I currently own a 2013 G23 with 450 motor. The other night we were cruising back to the dock it was dark so I went to turn the brightness down on the Linc, numbers change brightness doesn't figured I just need an update or something. Last night we went wakeboarding and the wake didn't seem quite right, my buddy who works for a Nautique dealership thought the NCRS wasn't working so we played around with it and nothing was happening. We reset the unit under settings and that didn't help. Next we tried shutting down everything and disconnecting grounds for both batteries waiting five minutes and booting back up. Didn't work. We went under system settings and tried to look at the version of software and it's blank for all three, Software-OS-Bootloader. I'm having them email me a firmware update but I'm worried that it will brick when I try to load the software and the boat does not have the warranty anymore. So what should I do? Try and load the software and hope it doesn't brick. I'm just hoping to not have to drop 4 grand on a new linc.

Well what else can you do at this point but reload the firmware and keep your fingers crossed. I would bet you'll be fine with the re-flash, mine wouldn't reboot last year and a re-flash fixed it. In the back of my mind I'm wondering how low voltage issues might corrupt the firmware and what might happen when a 5-6 year old boat powers up with low voltage from an original battery. Mine's a 2012 and I'll probably replace my battery next spring to avoid any problems. -

So I tried to load software that a dealer sent me. It makes it to 22% and the displays a folder with a question mark in it. Stumped. I guess I will have to take it to a dealer and see if they can get the reflash to take. On a brighter note I took the boat out and the ncrs was working fine.Comment

I had a similar problem a few years ago took several flash drives to fix... one flash drive was defective one down load from dealer had a glitch in it.. different firm soft ware based on what month in 2013 and version your Linc system was manufacture not based on just the year your boat was built.... finally we got the right firm ware and fix it.. been working great ever since ......2013 G23 super air
