Invertaflow exhaust damper, rumble under acceleration

    Hi there,

The crew made some 10 wakeboard runs first outing, great.

Our Ski Nautique 1990 makes a noise not known to our crew, the crew owns several skiboats but not a Nautique type.

Only under accelaration for wakeboard a far and light thunder comes out of the enigine compartement. It is a thunder roll about 1 to 3 pulses.

My idea to the sound was the prop pushes up the torque? Engine does not stall for at all, it just revs easily to 2100rpm.
    Cavitation?

The sub-dealer gave me the idea of the Invertaflow exhaust damper, does accumilate water when laying stationary for wakeboard pickup.
When the surplus of water is pushed out onder load this could give the noise.

    Its a loqic explanation.

    Thanks for your help.

    Is it known?

    Further ideas to look for.

That makes sense to me. I can't really think of anything else, at least with out hearing it.

I have heard this concern when one of the "internal wall" of the muffler had broken loose.
