    Slalom skiing behind a 210.

    IF YOU HAVE PLEASE REPLY.

    IF NOT DON'T BOTHER REPLYING.

Ok had to say that in the begining , since some feel the urge to always reply "you cannot"

I slalom skied this morning for the first time in years, had a blast and really enjoyed it behind a friends malibu response.

Sooo... now im wanting to try it behind are 210. I'm guessing 32mph will be better for flatter wake.

Anyone else use their 210 to cut hard on one ski?

    Thanks

I have a 2012 210 and I slalom almost every week behind it. We ski at 34mph and 15' and it's pretty good, for a v drive. My friend has a 22' direct drive tige and my wake is softer. The only downside is you don't have a center pylon in a 210 so the boat pulls. I'm looking at trading in on the new gs20 but I think the slalom wake is better on the 210.

That's great feedback thanks. I was gs20 shopping also, but if the 210 is better I'll keep her.
What about the rear hidden pylon for skiing? Is it strong enough?

Surf wave is pretty insane on are 210. And if slalom wake is even comparable I might keep are 210.

I use the rear pop up pylon to slalom. It's plenty sturdy but because it's mounted in the rear of the boat it pulls.

If you add weight in the bow it will flatten the wake even more...

We slalomed often behind my 04 210 (sold last week).

Perfectly serviceable and I would categorize myself as a pretty aggressive skier going for elbow to water, 1 hand off handle and hauling across the wake. 32 mph, 15 off. The was a sizeable wake difference between 2 people on the boat vs a handful. 2 people I had no issues, more and you know the wake is there and you can really get sketchy. That era boat had a pylon just in front of the sunpad so the boat tracked fine.

                Hey Mate
I single behind a friends 06 210 regularly and it is fine . Fine with 1 to 2 in boat any more and it gets to be hard work keeping ski down though wakes. She has pulled me off the tower which was NOT so fine lol , when you are laid over and cutting the wake it definately pulls you off the water when you hit the wake! Still ok and a really really good work out! I brought the new HO freeride last year which is a great ski to hit bigger wakes with, i too am a returning to the single after years of boarding....finding the mixup really nice...seems to hurt alittle more after 40 though!! Haha
Looking at video of the GS20 looks like no wake at all!! Amazing when you then see them surfing it and the wake it produces for boatding!!

I Salom behind my 2013 210 , I have skied behind a moomba outback v as well as a malibu vtx. I don't find there to be much difference. We ski a shorter rope like 22 off, at anywhere between 28-34 mph. You mayhave to play around with rope lenght to find the sweet spot.

I ski behind our '04 210 SANTE, 32mph 15' off, just because I really like to ski. Anybody who has easy access to a ski boat would hate it. As long as you stay on edge it's okay. But even then most of my ski is coming out of the water when crossing.

Video of old guy slaloming behind a wake boat here.

I ski behind my 08 regularly. . 15-20 off. 33-34 mph. Wake has bump. It's a v drive. However it is soft. To me the wake isn't the issue. On windy days the spray off the boat is the issue. It can get to you face high when the Wind is right. The above average v drive ski wake is actually what hekpee me decide on 210.

I run bow tank full hydrogate all the way deployed. Boat tracks very well. The only major downside is holeshot. I am proped as far down as you can go with 1617 ( primarily wakeboard ). And it still takes bit to get going. Really wish Nautique could allow more space under there. I just skied and rode behind my old 2000 Xstar this weekend and that hole shot with the indmar LTR and acme 1235 was like a rocket ship

                          So I'm keeping the 210.

Now help me find a good intermediate carbon fiber ski at 187 lbs.

Radar theory was a great all around ski. Little shape to help deep water starts , but something if you wanted to run course on it could perform. It helps your sets be less fatiguing and edging is easy.

The HO Triumph is similar. Both are season or
two old, so good deals to be had. I am 6ft 183 pretty athletic. I ride the HO Triumph 67
