    Linc mute button

I just returned from a long weekend with my new to me 230. I love it, huge, literally, improvement over my 211. Linc system seems a bit clunky to operate. When I am on the home screen, the only option for volume on the stereo is to push the volume down button? Is there a quick mute button? I would think the designeers understood how ofter you have to mute a radio when going back to pick up riders, especially novices? Are any of the screen controls customizable?

I figured that one out. Still one push to many to get there and back. Stupid design

Like he said... Double tap the audio tab. You don't find the speed controlled audio to decrease enough when your rider falls? I keep mine on I think 3, but you could go more extreme if you'd like a bigger swing

When pulling my kids, 9 and 11, I want it off when going to pick up. Linc works well, but could use some refinement, or at least user customization abilities. I can only imagine what these rubber buttons will look like in 5-10 years.

I agree. It's a stupid design. Even if a double tap on the music note button mutes it, what if I just want to turn it down right away to hear what someone has to say while I'm underway without having to fumble for the right button to press twice or switch into another screen? Also, muting it sometimes kills the mood unlike turning it down a bit. Sometimes, it seems like the people that design these things don't ever use them. All it would take is one master volume knob somewhere on the dash.

Would a simple wetsounds 420 fix this?

When I demo'ed the GS20 or even a new G the helm control knob was great because it gave this function. One press on the music button and quickly spin the volume down. To bad I would have to spend $100k on a new boat to get this function and they are still not offering on the 210 and 230.

Yes. If the 420 is mounted in an easy-to-access location, it completely resolves this issue.

Does the wetsounds 420 work with existing stereo equipment? I have no need for a 5-10k audio system. Stock is beyond sufficient.

Yes. Many members of this site have it integrated with their Linc systems. I mounted it below and forward of the throttle and a simple flip of the knob controls the volume. Click image for larger version

I find the mute thing and volume control very aggregating as well. I tried the speed control thing but It is way to sensitive even the lowest setting...sends the volume through the roof! Even does it from time time with it off...seems unresponsive at times to up or down, then all the buttons presses seem to go through at once either to full blast or dead silent.

I am the only one using my phone and Bluetooth for music? Just use the phone.... I also have the pebble and can mute on the wrist with the push of a button.

It's easy . Just tap the music button when it's in music screen . It mutes then tap again to go back on. You will get used to it
