Knock Off Sea Dek

Anyone seen this stuff on ebay before?

I am wondering if it is even close to the quality of real seadek. The price is pretty much the same as what you would pay for the regular large Seadek sheets minus the fact that they don't offer it with the faux teak without custom ordering. It certainly won't look quite as professional as a custom order, but is probably 1/3rd the price.

Made in China. Is Seadek made here??

Yeah. Seadek is made in USA.

The top nonskid surface of Seadek, effectively what we all know as "Seadek" is NOT made in the USA and probably never will be due EPA regulations not allowing use of chemicals in the product (I can hear Trump now, LOL). Seadek, Gatorstep, etc, all get the nonskid from the same country (probably the same manufacturer); China. Seadek, Gatorstep, etc then apply their own proprietary adhesion to the back side. Seadek went a very sticky more permanent route, Gatorstep is lot easier to remove.

Based on everything I am finding online, it looks like I was wrong about Seadek, or either they are very deceptive in their marketing. I see Gatorstep doesn't make the Made in USA claim.

I almost bought some of that stuff you can also get it direct as well it depends on how fast you need it from China. Be great if you could get a huge sheet of it so you don't have any kind of seams. One thing i will say with SeaDeck or Gatorstep it's nice when it's all pre cut and you don't have any seems.

They say it's 3M Glue they use and can do any size or color.

I may order a sample to check it out. From the pictures the tolerances are definitely not on par with Seadek (some of the lines don't look straight).

I would venture to guess, the raw material is all bought off shore and then "made in the USA" when it gets machined here.

Also note that Seadek has horrible customer response. I've emailed twice with no response as well as left a voice mail with their customer support and again no response. So, I'm taking my business elsewhere.

It sounds like they do import the raw materials.

Also note that Seadek has horrible customer response. I've emailed twice with no response as well as left a voice mail with their customer support and again no response. So, I'm taking my business elsewhere.
