Thanks cpan13. Much appreciate the advice. Where in Canada? What is estimated consumption change? Noticible?

Not certain yet but probably a G. Demoed one last week as well as the Centurion RI237. Certainly not the RI. Wave was solid but boat wasn't built very well.

I've had both the 450 and the 550 engines in my G23s. Does the 550 drink more fuel? A little bit, but it's not significant enough to make me want to revert back to a 450. The performance difference between the 450 and 550 far out weighs and fuel consumption differences, in my opinion. I have had no issues with the 550 engines. If you run the 450 and 550 with equal weights, you'll hardly notice a difference in fuel consumption.

If you take the 550 and start adding more weight than what the 450 can handle (about 1k pounds more with the 1:1.48 transmission, and about 2k more when you get the 550 w/ 2:1 tranny), of course you'll start to notice major fuel consumption differences.

How can i tell if it has the 2:1 Tranny? Was this available in 2014 builds with the XR-7? Was it an option?

2:1 was with all engines except 550 in 2014-2015, then the 550 got it for 2016 and they all have it now.

Read this if fuel consumption in the 550 is weighing heavily on your mind. I averaged 8.61 GPH for the season and we surf 99% of the time.

                  Thanks.
Not really worried about the fuel consumption. understand its a cost, if it was outrageous i'd be concerned. I have yet to hit my fuel budget (don't know if that is a good thing or bad thing to be honest, likely means not enough time on the boat)

So i've narrowed it down to a 2016 210 vs a 2014 G21. I feel like the G outweighs the 2016 advances. Thoughts (note the 210 does not have the H5)

I had a 2014 230 for two seasons and upgraded recently to a 2015 G21. A good friend of mine had a 2014 210 and also upgraded recently to a G21. I primarily wakeboard but surf about 25% of the time. For wake boarding, there's no question the G21 has the best wake of the three and that was my primary motivation for upgrading. For surf I also prefer G21 over the 230 but it's arguably more of a personal preference. The 230 is naturally a longer wake and G21 is naturally steeper but both can be adjusted. I tend to ride the G21 at a faster speed and lower NSS setting to lengthen it out to a similar shape to what I had with the 230 but the wave is a little firmer with the additional speed (which I like.) I rode my friends 210 a fair amount and did not like it as well for surf or wake but a major caveat there is he didn't have any additional ballast beyond the stock pro ballast setup. I've never ridden a 210 fully weighted down like I do for my 230 and G21 so not really an apples-to-apples comparison. My only other comment on the 210 is that I thought it felt a little small inside even with just 3-4 people. So, you probably want to spend a little time in it before committing and make sure it is spacious enough. The G21 to me feels just as big inside as the 230 and has way more storage since I don't have bags in the lockers. G21 for me is a clear upgrade over 230 or 210 even if I didn't wakeboard but they are all good boats.

Never enough where do you have your boat listed? The wife and I are exploring the 210-230 market and dig what you've done with yours.
