Thought I would share how I added a ballast pump to my 89 SpN with an old Fatboy fat sac I had.
Not sure the coding yet on this forum, so I'll just add a link for the video.

Fill Side:
1 1/4” forstner bit to drill hole (hole saw would have been preferred).
Measured back 10” from garboard drain plug so it would be right at the engine compartment area for installation and use.
Brass 3/4” NPT Through Hull Fitting: $13.53 + shipping. http://www.jamestowndistributors.com...uct.do?pid=629
Brass 3/4” MIP x 3/4” FIP NPT Elbow (x2): $6.22 each + tax http://www.menards.com/main/plumbing...57203899245400
Brass 3/4” ball valve: $9.77 + tax http://www.menards.com/main/plumbing...21838314399002
Pipe Sealant: $1.19 + tax http://www.farmandfleet.com/products...-compound.html
Atwood Tsunami 800 GPH aerator or cart pump (important as regular bilge pumps don’t have the inlet fitting) I also went with 800 because the rest of the fittings were easier to get than for the 1200. $24.64 + free shipping https://www.amazon.com/Attwood-Corpo...800&th=1&psc=1
3M 4200 fast cure adhesive (3 oz tube): $12.99 + shipping http://www.jamestowndistributors.com...ct.do?pid=2004
Clear Vinyl Tubing (not reinforced) 1” ID x 10’: Not sure price, but pretty cheap. http://www.menards.com/main/plumbing...21969754017592
Barbed to Threaded 3/4” fitting: Can’t find on website. Purchased at Menards for like $0.49 or something
3/4” quick twist connect: $5.99 + shipping https://www.wakemakers.com/fly-high-...ting-w732.html
Perfect Union Fly High Twisth: $19.99 + shipping https://www.wakemakers.com/perfect-u...onversion.html
Drain Side:
Atwood Tsunami 1200 GPH cart pump (the aerator style pump is $10 less, but the inlet is 2 1/2” longer): $36.77 + free shipping https://www.amazon.com/Attwood-Corpo...nami+cart+pump
1 1/8” quick twist connect: $8.99 https://www.wakemakers.com/fly-high-...ting-w734.html (for the Tsunami 1200)
Primary 14 gauge brown and black wire from Farm and Fleet (I know, not pre-tinned, and I'm ok with it): $4.29 each + tax http://www.farmandfleet.com/products...mary-wire.html
Inline Fuse holder (switched to 5 amp fuse): $3.39 + tax http://www.farmandfleet.com/products...useholder.html
*Inline lamp switch: $2.84 + tax http://www.menards.com/main/electric...65789873968865
All Connections were made with adhesive lined heat shrink butt connectors or ring connectors (for battery): $28.79 + free shipping https://www.amazon.com/Connectors-El...nnectors&psc=1
Ratcheting Crimper: $22.49 + free shipping https://www.amazon.com/Titan-Tools-1...Z20MJK0EBAJ90Q
*Connections were made in the switch, then the entire inside of the switch was covered in dielectric grease for corrosion resistance.
I added a accessory outlet and plug between the cart pump and battery so the pump didn’t have to be connected all the time. The inline fuse is right at the positive side of the battery to the acc. outlet.
Rough estimate total without tax or shipping, doesn’t include barbed fitting, hose, connectors, crimper: $160.00
