I am 210 (maybe 215 after a few cold ones) and have never had a problem w push on my 15 G21. Even on smaller boards that I struggle with on other peoples boats.... Did you try slamming it with a little extra in the surf side? Or take a little out of the off side? I used a couple hundred lbs of lead in mine to offset driver and prop.

Blake I am fairly new to surfing and just enjoyed the first summer in my G23. I am also pretty close to that same size. The push on my G w/ stock ballast almost throws me into the swim platform. Not sure what I am doing differently than you, but push is not my problem. Skill is. I still find a way to get left by the boat every time. But, consider me a solid novice on a board, so.....

I'm going to have to politely agree with this assessment. My brother is of the same build (230+lbs) and can surf far very far back and slash pretty hard on our small skim style Phase 5 board behind our stock 2016 G. He an intermediate-advanced surfer though. I liken the problem to someone who is learning inverts wakeboarding and isn't getting all the way around and decides they need a bigger wake not a refined technique. Work on your form and technique and a wake of any size will be a blast!!

I honestly think that both the X23 and the G23 have phenomenal surf waves. I actually liked the G23's wave better, but that was strictly personal preference. The G however DOMINATES the wakeboard wake industry. I don't care what anybody says, the X23 wont touch it. IMO though, it may just be that you're not used to the wave of the G yet. I don't think more weight in the boat will necessarily make it that much easier. I came from an XStar to the G23 and it honestly just took me some time on the new wave before I learned how to ride it. I LOVE it now! What side are you surfing? Goofy or regular. IMO, the Goofy (Starboard) side surf wave is actually a tad better than the Regular (Port) side with the factory settings (100% full, NSS 0, NCRS 5). If you're regular, maybe try listing the boat a tad to the port side or maybe just add some weight to the port side, that may help. Just some thoughts...

The G23's wave is straighter down the line behind the boat than some other boats I've surfed, and doesn't curl out as much as a Malibu or Centurion (Ri237) wave. Can't speak to the X23 in comparison though, I've never surfed it. I had to focus on squaring up more to the G23 wave than on the Malibu or other boats I'm used to but after making that adjustment I found the G23 wave to have incredible push on just the factory stock ballast and settings (NSS 0, NCRS 5). It's one of the best waves out there right now, second only to the Ri237 IMO.
