    230 Top Speed

i know that these boats aren't made for speed, but we have ordered a 2017 230 with the H6 engine and i was wondering what the top speed would be. Any ideas?

When we test drove the boat we stayed mostly at surfing and wakeboarding speed and now i'm just curious about the top speed (not that we'll spend much, if any, time at it).

    Thanks!

Not sure about a 230 with the H6, but my guess would be between 40-45mph depending on which prop you have. My 2011 210 with ZR450 tops out between 40-45.

My 230 with the ZR6 390 tops out at 40, so I'd bet your a little quicker, but doubt you'll get to 45.

Yep....i'm with Honda. I doubt you'll see 45 even with a tailwind. Remember the days when 45 was slow for an inboard....LOL. What's the world coming to when we just flash 39 with a half tank of gas and just the driver!!! Come on PCM....give us a little more.

Best chance of breaking 45 with those giant ballast ships is on the trailer

As bigjon said, I know these boats aren't made for speed and would never be the first choice for slalom and/or barefoot, but does anyone have experience with barefooting either behind or on a boom on a 230? If they top out around 40, that is plenty to barefoot on for most people. Does the spray become an issue for the boom? Any recommendations for booms for the newer 230's? Thanks!

I foot my 230 from the boom when I can't get a ride on a real inboard. Spray isn't an issue at all, but I have the Titan tower so I doubt they compare. Call Mike at Barefoot International and he'll let you know which boom fits your boat. Great guy to deal with, he'll talk you through install too.

Here is my daughter, learning on the 230.

Zr6 390 with 645 tops at 42.7 on gps. On propane at least, perhaps a bit faster on petrol?
