    Winter projects...

Boating season isn't quite done yet out here but winter is coming, what's everyone got planned? (Guess you could say I'm looking for ideas).
I already know I have to troubleshoot my underwater lights. Maybe replace two speakers, and thinking about adding some LEDs.
Also maybe a fresh exhaust... Any talk of a winter group buy? Maybe if we start the talk now and no one pulls the trigger early- by spring we'll have enough interest to qualify?

I'm about 10% into my winter project already.

1.) GatorStep flooring: removed seats, rear tanks, ski locker panel, fuel tank panel, stripped carpeting, floated foor with resin. Still to be done: sand floor, square up openings, build panels, gelcoat floor, template floor.
2.) replace steering cable, replace rudder packing
3.) fix little things; rear tank empty pump replacement, boardrack rubber replacement, tighten rear grab handle
4.) Extra stuff: Carbon fiber solenoid latch covers for rear lockers (2003 SAN) (just finished making molds and will attempt my first carbon fiber part soon), carbon fiber dash panel (if I can master making molds) carbon fiber glove box, carbon fiber dash panels
5.) Buff and polish boat, re-pinstripe whole boat
    6.) FAE
7.) Full maintenance: oil, plugs, wires, tranny fluid, v-drive fluid
8.) Extras time permitting: carbon fiber transom cups, zerk fitting rudder port, LED cup holders, redo stereo amp rack

I think this will keep me busy most of the winter.

Get surf pockets sewn into factory bimini
Plumb 900# sacks in rear lockers
      Buy pop bags for bow
Replace Clarion CMD& with Clarion M606 for bluetooth functionality thru LINC
      Have a few warranty items
Possibly upgraded sub and inboats, add a WS420 and vent the storage area to let out bass. Haven't decided on that one.

Replace worn sundae skins... Already ordered from Christine's Marine
Remove GatorGrip and have custom SeaDek done by SC Wake (13 years old and still looks great, but ready for an update)
        ANOTHER stereo upgrade...
Relocating/replacing sub from behind driver's seat to under driver's dash (LOTS of work to be done) and go with WS XXXv2 and SD2 amp
Replacing in-boat speakers with WS SW650 and SD6 amp

Typical maintenance and polishing tasks like every spring.

That's quite a list @wakejunky... I really need to step up my game. Can't wait to see the photos of the flooring; might be the best feature of going from my '05 to the '12... Good luck. You're in CA? Is your season already over?

They make carbon fiber transom cups??? That's cool. I used to always be replacing those stupid things on my 05.

My season was over when my local lake went to 5mph and a river I can go to got into the way of the kids schedule so, I dove in and started.
I'm still trying to figure out how to make a mold of the things I want to make so, right now it's 90% research and 10% doing.

FWIW - I removed the transom cups years ago and never looked back. Filled the holes with 3M 5200 and then gelcoat patched them. The U-bolts are much more user friendly to access now and I can use them for strapping the boat to the trailer instead of the platform brackets which aways made me uneasy. Only downside I've seen is water splashing up when waves hit the transom. Its annoying while sitting back there chilling, but not enough to replace the cups. Good ridence!

Sorry to hear about your lake wakejunky... Hoping it is something that can be fought and overturned. Dealing with a similar situation out here thanks to US Fish and Wildlife services. Best of luck to you.

Nautique4life, our local lake closes to 5mph due to lake level. It's not that it's unusable, it that the state deems it unsafe for the public. They have to protect us from damaging our own boats. Gotta love California.

Back to you regularly schedule post.

I have a pretty big list of projects But winter last along time in Indiana.
1.) remove tower and have it powder coated black.
2.) install seadek or gatorstep not decided yet.
3.) upgrade to wing graphic and chromax letters.
                          4.) underwater lights
5.) upgrade prop and add surf pipe.
6.) some small stuff 35% window tint and new led trailer lights.
Once hunting season ends I'll get started and post pics to the forum.
