Lake lanier had their shore sweep on Sep 24 . We always participate in the clean up. This year they removed 28 tons of garbage from the shoreline. I hate to even think about how much there is on the bottom. I wish GA. would put a 10 cent deposit on all bottles and cans .

        28 tons!!! That is crazy!
It is nice to back areas we have been before and see less and less trash each year. There are always certain spots that just seem to collect floating debris because of currents and wind.

Most of what we collect is cans, bottles and debris left by the pigs on the water . There is also a lot of foam and dock floats, beach chairs ,coolers ext. This year we found multiple pieces of carpet dragged down to the beach and then left there . The best way to do it is with a pontoon that way you can pull up on the shore and not have to carry full bags.
