Sounds like your friend needs to figure out how to dial in his 230. I surfed a 2015 Axis T23 with 6200 lbs of ballast and 8 people which is supposed to be one of Axis' best surf boats. Biggest surf wake I've ever surfed or seen, but the shape was garbage. More like a big roller rather than a wave. Really easy to fall out the back despite it's size. That wave style is typical of most Axis and Malibu surf wakes. Pics of that surf wake should still be online at wake9.com. Look for polar bear 2014. Black boat with pink accents. I'm in a lot of those pics with my Nautiques sweatshirt on. Gotta represent! ;-)
Couldn't agree more...I'm a current 2016 Axis T23 owner and your description of the wake is spot on. I'm looking at the 2017 G23, which will primarily be a surf boat.
