Looking for a long mellow wave on a 15 G21

    Hello,
We have been mainly been surfing w front empty and back full. Been able to create a steep wave with a TON of push that is pretty long.

But... we have some hard core skim boarding to do this weekend, what settings are people using to get a long mellow wave on their G21?

    Thanks!

I've found the only thing that helps me on my '15 G21 when using stock ballast...is more people. I'm running 1/4 belly....1/2 Starboard...Full port and the wave is still not as long as I would like it. Yes...EASY to do short and steep with this boat...but harder to fine tune the long solid wave. I don't run any additional ballast...so i'm sure someone will chime in an say put a Miata under the port cooler seat and you're set!!!!

I don't have a G but in every boat I've ever owned BOW ballast helped at creating a longer more skim friendly wave,

I'm sure the belly idea is true in most situations...but...someone on here during the summer said the 21 likes to have the belly "empty" or almost empty to lengthen the wake. Filling the belly only sinks this boat more...therefore producing the short steep wave that everyone is trying to make longer. I actually tried the settings that were given and only ran a little water in the belly and yes....my wave did get longer. Not as BIG overall as i'd like it...but for stock ballast on a 15 G21 it's pretty good. So..i'm running Stock ballast..belly 1/4...Starboard 1/2...Port Full. NCRS 5....NSS 0....11.5 mph. When I was running all full in all tanks......the short steep wake is great....but it's just that...short.

99% of my time is spent on a skim board. Like we've talked about in the past. Full rear port, 3/4-7/8 Starboard, no belly weight or very little. Speed 11.2, NCRS at 3 and NSS at 1 or 2. All my skim board riding buddies love this wave. Long and clean with a great shape.

F725 - thanks for weighing in again. I can 360 behind other peoples boats but can't finish it on my boat (head case maybe?). Trying to soften the lip to see if that helps.... Probably just me being a head case but I can't let my 9 year old finish the 360 on our boat before me, especially after my 13 year old already beat me!

I hear ya. Just when I think my 3's are on lock, I can't land any. if I can find a way to upload a video, I've got a few of Worlds champion Cole Sorensen riding skim behind our G21. Spinning and spinning, big airs, 540 shuvs etc.
