Anyone who has upgraded their surge brakes to electric, can you please start a new thread depicting how it was done, and cost?

    No problem.

Towing the boats is probably the least considered portion if boat ownership before purchasing even though I know most of you guys hardly tow them. Basically everyone has to at some point and it's just far to much value to be on the road over limits and not insured !

It is interesting the ball weights, but after towing my grandparents 26 foot caravan for them when they were moving, we estimated its gross weight at 7500 pounds and actually weighed its ball weight while we had the chance.
Interestingly it was well over the legal ball weight of 770 pounds and had to move stuff inside the van to get it to 770.
While towing it, it was far less stable then my boat or a G23.
The design of a wakeboat and its trailer is likely optimal because a huge portion of the weight is sitting on top and behind the axles. But is at the happy place where it's not to rear heavy to make it unstable.

After reading through this thread this week it was at the forefront of my mind when we took the boat out today with a group of or friends for the whole day. So the Gross combination mass of my car and trailer is allowed to be up to 16,100 pounds. Today with 6 people all our gear and full of fuel in car and boat, based on my numbers we would of been within 350 pounds of our limit on the way down. We towed 190 miles today on dual carriage highway, 4 lane freeway with bumper to bumper traffic and urban. While on the highway doing 70mph plus and not one did the car feel un settled or unstable at any moment in time and we were basically on the limit of the car.

Even with the tower up these boats have relatively low drag and tow incredibly well for there size. And again electric brakes make the driving so much less of an effort having the ability to adjust the braking at your fingertips to give you the best performance And keep everyone safe!

The website is not very straight forward.
My wife wanted a Denali XL so bad as well since it would be our main vehicle. I was able to get her to look at the the 16 GMC Denali 2500 with the DMAX ( 17 has even more HP/ TQ). The interior is pretty much the same as the Yukon Denali and they drive like a car. The first week she thought it was to big for her after a few weeks she loves driving it. I have even gotten 19mpg on the freeway not towing / towing 15/16 with 9K boat. After having a diesel I will never go back.

We even have a 2006 BMW M5 as a second car and she never wants to drive it she drives the truck. I work from home and put about 6K miles a year on it.

I tow a 24'6 Supra SE on a Triple axel boatmate trailer and the boat / trailer is around 9k pounds.

How does that Denali ride with no load? I am of the thought that they ride really rough until they are loaded up. I dgd the Supra SE too. We almost bought one at the end of 2014 but decided on the G23.

Joe it rides really good without it it being loaded. I did the Cognition leveling kit with the Fox Shocks. Letting a little air out of the tires makes a big difference as well. Stock tire pressure is something like 75, I went down to 60.

I have heard you can make it ride even smoother with a elastomer

I have had a 2010 LTZ 2500 with the 6.0l; a 2013 LTZ 2500 with the Duramax; and now a 2016 2500 Denali with the Duramax. Each one has been better than the last as far as unloaded ride quality. And both diesels were quieter than the gasser heading down the road by a wide margin. The 2016 is, frankly, unbelievable for the size of the truck and its capabilities. Each one was my daily driver.

Jack totally agree they are like so comfortable feels like a rolling couch . Towing with it is amazing, there is a large grade coming out of Oregon into California towing 9k and able to do 80 up the grade no problem passing cars .

Hehe, ya, I regularly tow a 10k+ 36' travel trailer over the passes and at least with my '13 (the 2016 is brand new, so no trips yet) I set the cruise on 70 and it almost never even downshifts except on the steepest of the steeps. That Duramax/Allison combo is the bees knees. It really is remarkable how they can get such a beast of a truck to drive so civilly and quietly when its unloaded.

Oh, and as a Chico grad from the Pac NW I have driven that hill you are talking about more times than I can count. That is a steep grade.
