    230 Wake question

    I'm close to making a purchase of a 2012 230. Being end of season, I'll not get the chance to ride behind the boat (however have driven it) I have boarded and surfed behind 210's and G's and have read enough to understand a little about the wake. I'm coming from a MC 205V, we generally run around 1500-2000lbs ballast and 3 people when boarding, how would the wake on a stock ballast 230 compare to the 205V? I see some owners of 230's have progressed up from 205's so hoping for some direct experience.

    For surfing I have no plans to go crazy so hopefully around 1000lbs over stock will do the trick.

      Can't make a comparison vs the MC having never been on one, but the retrofit NSS would be available on a '12... I'd definitely plan on that if you aren't gonna be running too much weight

          A friend of mine has a 04 xstar (205V) and I have an 08 230. They are similar in their transition but of course the 230 is wider. The 230 has a tendency to get this frothy wash right at the top. So it takes some messing with. I run 2000lbs in mine.

                  I have a 2012 230 and run 750s over the stock hard tanks. I have the NSs and feel its absolutely vital. After mkt could work, but the NSS makes the boat. It's a bit finicky with passenger placement (wave gets soft if too many people sit in the opposite side). Great boat and my bank account likes that it's not a G!
