+1 for the original Air Nautique hull decal! These era boats are almost like collectors items. Sometimes it's good to maintain the nostalgia.

My vote is SPORT NAUTIQUE, the lettering stays within the same color of gelcoat. I think the AIR NAUTIQUE on a solid hull with no pin striping would look better than a multicolor hull because the sticker spans over both colors.

Whatever you decide be sure and get the hull sanded/polished before, you can still see the ghosting where "Sport Nautique" was.
Chromax may look cool however if you are on a lift with side bunks or adjacent to anything on a regular basis those letters stick out enough to catch on things pretty easily.

If it was my boat with those gel colors I would probably go back to the original sport nautique

Here was my 99' with the original "Air" graphics as another reference.

Yes, I am definitely going to get it polished so you cant see the outline before I put something new on. I think Im leaning toward the chromax or the old Air Nautique. Just not sure if I want to spend that much for chromax or not. Anyone ever used domedlettering.com?

I can't find a picture of my original decal, but it was the oval AIR with nautique through it similar to the first picture on this thread. I changed to the chromax and it looks like a different boat. Click image for larger version

I'd say go for it if it was a nautique super sport but not on a sport nautique.
1999 Pro Air Nautique (current boat 2008-)
1990 Ski Nautique (past boat 2001-2007)
1978 Ski Tique (first boat 1998-2001)
