Electric Fridge Drawers in a 230!

Check out Nautique Central's latest project! I have been talking about something like this for a few years now, although my idea was an electric cooler that fit in the stock location. Glad someone finally did this!

Pretty sweet idea...wouldn't be a hard project really for anybody to attempt! The drawers are $630 ea. A person would just have to feel comfortable cutting into the deck of the boat wherever they would want them to go, then run the wires!

Those are amazing but it seems like a ridiculous place to put them no? Right next to the engine compartment? that wouldn't make them terribly inefficient? i'd like them in the coffin or behind the driver seat.

For that to remain effective in that location on a hot summer day, it would take A LOT of power. The recovery rate for portable refrigerators is really slow too. How long does it have to be turned on to cool down in the first place? How does this not run the battery(s) dead when the engine is not running?

yeah seems much easier to throw ice in a cooler, or get a yeti/rtic cooler and still be ahead money-wise.

Agreed. This feels like one of those ideas that's really good on-paper, but yet doesn't turn out to be very practical. I remember some crappy minivans in the early 90s that had small refrigerators in them. My coworker bought one and after the first few weeks, simply used it as a trash can. It took HOURS to cool down and just wasn't very practical.

Almost be better to buy a ARB fridge if you were looking at going electric route. I will say the ARB fridges are awesome we use them on weeklong camping trips.

Ice is cheaper bottom line

Would not keep the drinks cold on a 90deg+ day with a boat full of folks opening those drawers.

doubtfull it would chill them below 40degs.

90deg ambient temps. Backed up against 150deg engine compartment temps.

constantly being opened.... those don't stand a chance.

I would be in favor of just one drawer....keep the coolers in my G for beer and other drinks to keep them cold....but one of these located just behind the driver would be great for things such as sandwich meats, condiments, etc. That way they don't get watered down from melted ice.
