I doubt the dolly wheels would work, they would hang up on every little lip trying to enter the garage. I also agree removal of a tire might gain you a couple of inches, not 4. The bare wheel and padding is a good idea. Go to a local tire store, ask them if they get a worn out set of very low profile tires if you could give them a few bucks for them. If you can match the bolt pattern on smaller rims you might be able to put a set of 40 or 50 series sports car tires on them and gain the clearance while still being able to roll on concrete.

Having said that, and picturing the hassle of changing out 4 wheels every time you want to use the trailer, I'd raise the door and be done with it.

I got 4 old rims that fit from my FIL. My boat lives on a lift during the season so it only involves changing the tires twice a year. Worth it IMO.

Can you put some slits in the tower cover with a zipper installed by a seamster? We all might have better ideas, I'm guessing, if I could see pictures of the tower folded.

At some point, I'm guessing the drive guard (or rotors) will hit the floor, right? If that is the lowest point, you could have some large casters welded to the frame in that area, so it just clears, but carries the weight when the trailer is lowered. grizzly.com sells some beefy casters. A set of 4 welded in place wouldn't cost too much.

I just purchased a G23 and will take delivery in April due to my garage door project. I have not started discussions with any remodelers yet.

Do you have any before and after pics of the door at original height and now after the 10" height increase?

Did you do it your self?
