Getting real close on making a decision on a 2013 or 2014 210. I'm concerned about my lift with the 2014 however. I have a Craftlander 4500lbs. Dry weight is 4200lbs on the 2014 compared to 3900lbs on the 2013. Dealer claims I'd be fine of course but my lift guy said that it'd void the warranty on the lift. Anyone using a 4500 lift with a 2014+ 210? Anyone have thoughts on choosing between a 2013 and 2014? Similar options, 2014 has much lower hours. It'd be only $5k more to jump to the 2014..

20 years of having boats on lifts. You will be at or above the weight limit IMO... Gear and fuel.... I think like most will tell you, you can probably get away with it, but with a 100K boat, I wouldn't chance it. I always over build everything. Another reason for that is if you want to upgrade in the future you are not lift limited. imoLast edited by shag; 11-29-2016, 12:46 AM.

is it the cable or the structure (frame) that limits you ,,,if it just the cable ,up grade to the next diameter..good to change out out after a few years....they get week over time ...my rear port cable sapped last year only after three summers ..no harm as we were lowing into water...my cables are rated 4000 lbs over dry wait....2013 G23 super air
2010 230 super air
2009 220 super air
2008 210 super air
2005 210 super air
2003 calabria pro air

I just went through this when i was building my dock and I had originally thought a 4000" rated system would work. Ended up bumping up to over 6000 lb system which upgrades the cables and goes from a 1 hp motor to a 1 1/2 hp motor. Well worth the added safety for my 2017 210 SANTE, fuel, oil, gear and me (if I am in the boat at any time during lowering, cleaning, etc).
Dont skimp on this in my opinion.

Need a little more info, guessing it is Hydraulic?? If so that could be a little more of an issue vs a cable style lift, possibly shorter pump/valve life.
If cable or hydraulic, like Mcfarland stated, see if what you have can be upgraded for a heavier load.
In either scenario I personally would use it as is with either boat, you should not be raising/lowering (other then the first/last couple inches) with people in the boat regardless, so you should be very near the rated capacity (not excessively overloaded), which should be fine.
Seen many cable lifts used WAY overloaded without any real issue other then they are a bear to wheel up!

I agree to upgrade with everyone else saying that. If you're so close you will be over with one person in boat cleaning out and some gear and fuel. Ask the lift guy if it can be upgraded by parts and not complete new lift as was said earlier - also, it may just be the motor as the limiting factor, may be cables, may be cross members, etc.

Broke a lift with my 210. Gear, fuel, forget to drain and its light out. Would you feel safe going under the lift with the boat on it? It never ends, you can most likely find a buyer for the old lift.
I really wish I had the walk-thru but it's not the end of the world. 14 has more stock ballast too.2013 SANTE 210

Our lift is a floating hydrohoist so now that I've read more and the lifts your referring to are cable I would upgrade for sure . Our lift simply fills with air and no cables .
