HA!!! I pulled every single warning label off while the guys were prepping my boat for delivery... They made the comment that Nautique policy was to replace any worn/missing decals during service. I told them they could replace them, but they would be wasting their time and mine as they would be pulled back off quicker than they could replace them. They laughed and didn't mention it again. This was back in 2003... I don't need a sticker to tell me or my guests common sense!
First thing I've done with all of my boats is remove all of them before they get baked on or create any ghosting. If it can't be pulled off, I cover it with carbon fiber wrap. Even the weight capacity stickers, how-to-lower-the-tower stickers, you name it. I got in trouble with the dealer on one of my 2005 SAN for removing labels before it was all rigged and left their shop. I told him, "too bad, it's my boat". Nautique seems to think they need to make their boats safety billboards. No thanks. I'm glad it's only stickers and not a bunch of stupid riveted plaques though.
I heard a rumor once that some states now require those stickers to be present at resale- even if it is between 2 private parties... Or the seller could face liability... Not sure if there is any truth to that or not... Just something I heard out on the sand bar one day.
