Why are NADA prices so wacked out?

I was just checking on nada prices on a SANTE that I was interested at Buxton Marine. They are asking 43K for a 2002 that is pretty much loaded out. It seems like a lot, but most people are asking that much for a 4yr old sante.

I ckecked NADA on that boat, and with Team Edition selected with 330hp motor, it was coming in at 33K. I did add in all the stuff like tower and speakers and bimini, etc and it came out to 39K.

My question is.....does the NADA value include the extras included in the Team Edition or Super Air for that matter? Do they realize that a tower is included on the boat, or do they expect you to check all the boxes for the applicable options?

If they already take into account all those options, is Buxton smoking some good crack or what? I know that sellers will try to sell what market value is, but most lenders will look at NADA for loan values.

    Cheers!

Private sales claiming a lower sale price for tax reasons.

I think they may have smoked a bowl or two. Depending on the condition and the hours.
I paid 38.5k for mine last year and it is an 02 SANTE loaded with a couple hundred hours, so I would say your figures at around 39k are right on.

So do yall think that the nada price doesn't include all the super air and team goodies, and you are supposed to add it to get the real value?

No, it didn't include the trailer. If I add the trailer and I don't select anything extra it comes out to about 36K

Very good question i hope you find a good answer. Did you try asking Buxton? They seem like nice people.

If you read the options page, I'm pretty sure NADA does include the tower and ballast system on the Teams, you should not option them. That being said, I've found NADA to be very low in there valuation of inboards, at least comparing to asking prices I've seen.

Any chance Buxton is asking 43K for the boat, but would take 39K for it?

Maybe they've figured room for bargaining into the price...?

I'm sure that they will take less. That particular boat has been on their lot since the end of last season. I would probably offer 36-37K OTD take it or leave it.

Just a thought...probably being sold on consignment......if that is the case, the PO will set the price to cover the dealer's cut.

I agree that it is probably a consignment boat. If it's that black one with the blue stripe, that's a kick butt boat. You should also check out Flipsell.com, there is a guy in TN with an all red SANTE on there, it's a bit cheaper and has really low hours

I am actually surprised at how well the 02 & 03 boats are holding thier value. With CC discontinuing the colored decks, changing the tower, and changing the air logo I think alot of folks are beginning to covet those solid color SANTE's with the old school air logos and simple Nautique stripe, I know I do. I think the 01 & 02-03 will become classic, and particularly the colored deck boats.

A really good indicator is to check boattraderonline.com and flipsell.com for similar years, engine hours, upgrades, editions, etc. When I boat my used 02 I had a very good idea what the boat was worth from researching these sites. I did not haggle with the seller, he put up a fair price and I gave him asking for it.
