Anyone have a Super fly high cheater tower on an FCT1?

I'm considering getting the Super Fly High tower extension, I've used it before and it's really great for footing and hydrofoiling. I have a Sport Nautique 216 with the FCT1 and I'm hoping someone else may have this device setup on the same tower and can tell me how easy it is to put the FCT down for backing into a garage. I see that the cheater tower folds down towards the stern so you can then trailer the boat, but I want to know how it works to fold down the main tower as I keep mine in my garage and do a lot of trailering. I'm guessing it would fold down towards the bow, hoping someone can educate me on whether this works or not.

If you have a 216 then your tower is likely to be a Gen2 FCT not a FCT1. Post on CCFan, NCH20Skier who has a SFH on his 05 206 FCT Gen2 is a regular there, Greg will definitely be able to answer your question

If I'm correct Dean Lavelle has one on a FCT II as well. Just can't remember the name of his school, but shouldn't be too hard to find on google.

Someone else pointed out to me that I also need to consider the extra weight, currently I can fold my tower down by myself, but if the fly high is on there I may not be able to do so.... also an issue as I'm typically doing this solo.

Wouldn't worry about the weight, can fold mine with a pair of NVS speakers that are very heavy by myself.

From first hand knowledge.... It would be almost impossible to do by yourself!

BTW.... I did install the Fly High on a 1st Gen FCT. I broke my tower doing a doubles foil run from the Fly High!!!! Gave me an excuse to put a 2nd Gen FCT tower on my boat.

I was wrong about my tower, it's actually a second Gen FCT, just like in your top 2 photos. So do you leave the fly high on and fold it forward and then fold your FCT down? Two person job sounds like.

There is no way you could leave it on and fold it forward. . I take it off prior to collapsing my tower. Store the Fly High separately. When you fold the Fly High to the stern, a majority of the weight would be way aft of the pivot point on the tower.

Echo, laughing at your pic as there is probably more $$$ in those 4 foils then the boat itself!!
Never put up/dn a SFH so no clue on complexity, read his comment on weight as the weight of the SFH itself. Sounds like a non issue anyways if it needs to be completely removed before the tower can be folded. Are you also saying to install/remove the SFH on your tower is a 2 person job??

True at 6k or more per foil.... But, I love my old school SS... It is really difficult to put the SFH and take off by yourself. It can be done and I have done it before but it is not the way to go. Trying to balance the SFH as you attach the feet to the tower is a PITA.

Thanks EchoLodge, good practical info here. Going to mull it over for a few weeks. The ideal solution would be to buy a cottage and move there for the summer so the boat stays in the water, but that dream is not likely for a while! Also want an over-the-tower bimini and I think that would make SFH management even more tricky, certainly not impossible though!

I have seen the SFH on BUs with over tower biminis. You need cut outs in the Bimini for the mounts.

So I took delivery of a Super Fly High today, looking at installing it before the next session out. EchoLodge, I'm installing on my FCT2 tower and I can't quite get the tower mounts to be the required 36" apart due to the cross pieces of the tower design. I can get just over 35" from centre to centre. I've only got the mounts on there now, but just wanted to see what you did as you have the same FCT2 tower. Did it mount fine at just under 36" between or is your tower perhaps a bit wider than mine due to it being on a different boat?

A guy on my lake has a tower extension on his barefoot... I think it's a Sanger? Anyway, he had someone machine up a few parts that allow the tower extension to fold down and attach securely to the tower. As far as folding it ALL down, that's a different story I guess. But as he goes under a low bridge to get just about anywhere, he needed this ability, and it's really slick.
