I hear you about the 500 hour limit but I would venture to say that a small percentage of people put more than 500 hours on a boat in a five year period. We live on the water and have 221 hours on our boat after two seasons.

How long did it take Nautique to advise you of the warranty transfer from the time you sent it in ?

I am going through the warranty transfer on a 2016 G23 right now and can tell you that the cost is $550 for engine/parts plus $300 for hull. Prior to 2016, you would have to pay $300 for hull + $300 for parts + $200 to PCM for the engine.

Nautique has the best warranty in the industry and has for a few years. Malibu is smoke and mirrors because any component that is covered by a 3rd party, like the big touchscreen, is not covered by Malibus 5 year warranty. At least that is my understanding when reading their lawyer-speak owners manual.
MC also claims to have the best, yet their gel is only covered for a year. Although you can now get 7 years on the 6000 and 7000 - not sure if a fee is involved or not.
If I'm incorrect on any of these statements, please let me know...2012 SANTE 230

It should transfer without cost IMO like an automobile does under manufacturers warranty.

I would like to agree to that but the reality is there is a wide variety of care given to these boats. From salt water use, neglect, indifference with dealer support, and finally to total anal retentiveness. It’s all over the board. The warranty transfer fee helps cover this wide variety. Plus 1000 hours is a long time. Abused cars within the warranty period are more outliers and so the ability to offer a no cost warranty transfer is there and the economics still work.
