I'm coming from a '97 Sport Nautique. I love the power and handling. I do not love flooding the boat with water when anyone sits in the bow. The Sport's ski and wakeboard wake is good enough and I can surf behind it but the wake is lacking a bit. I'm willing to spend around 40K on newer boat. I will not buy a boat with carpeted floors again. My other needs are doable open water skiing, a wakeboard wake comparable(or better) to what I have, and better surfing (even slightly better). I want a v-drive because I am sick of walking over fat sacs and would like the open area for my small kids (2 year old twins). I was thinking the 2007+ 210 or 2006+ Mastercraft X2. I don't like the seating in the SV-211. Thank you for any input.

Those are precisely the two boats I would consider , even throw in an X-15 .
I think you'll find the the handling of the X2 definitely different. The bow rise and lack of tracking fins make it handle more like an I/0. We are splitting hairs here so to speak, but it is definitely below the 210 and the X15 and a very noticeable difference. The 210 will wakeboard and surf better , the X15 will ski better. The X2 is on the same page ski wise as the x15

Well I think I can take the X2 out of the running then. The X15 could work. Does anyone have any idea how many 2008-2009 210's were made? There are a ton of X15's on onlyinboards and boattrader. Hardly any 210s....2008 SAN 210

Where are you located? There was a sweet 08 210 for sale but it was in Montana.
Hard to find 08-09 used. $40k is about right for an 08 on price.

I would say 07+ 210, X15 or X30 (depending on year, but worst of the three for a ski wake), you may also consider a VTX, it's a 20' boat, but is very comparable in interior space and storage to the 210. The X15 interior is very big, storage lockers, not so much.
Btw, none of them will ski like your hull....2008 230 TE-ZR6

What about a 2010 or so 200 Sport V? I suspect they would be close to your price range depending on hours and condition.

I considered the VTX, but I thought it had carpeted floors and I'll never do that again. As far as the skiing goes, I just watched a video of Leif Abel skiing behind a g21 on youtube. I guess if he can do it on a G21, I can do it on a 210. But I have no plans of running a course and usually ski at 36 mph.....but I have twin 2 year-olds and don't want a wake that scares them when they start to learn.Last edited by vanhanbr; 02-08-2017, 10:52 PM.2008 SAN 210

Personally, I would not base a purchase decision on the carpet. You can always just cut it out and add Seadeck if it bugs you that much.
