Any thoughts or feedback on this boat 2008 SAN

New to upper crust wake boats, but not new to boating... I have been shopping all major brands
This boat is in my price range, like the way it looks...and has low hours
Any feedback on surf wake with a suck gate... and feedback on this particular model, issues to be aware of... price point good?
    Thanks for any help.

I've never had a 220 but test drove and rode one while shopping, they do produce a pretty respectable surf wave with a list or a suck gate. The wakeboard wake is good on these boats, just a little sensitive and finicky to the side to side weight. Boat is really roomy on the inside with plenty of storage and a good layout. They are very popular and a great boat I'm my opinion. It's definitely worth a test drive and a closer look.

The 220 wakes are great. Especially for surfing. It has the deepest v out of the of the Nautique boats of the era , which gives it argualble
the best surf wake in the line at the time. The seating area is about the only challenge in the boat. It's like a puzzle. Some love it. Some don't. It's personal preference. It looks to be well maintained from pics. Previous owner definitely dropped some money on the stereo stuff going JL and Wetsounds. There is a guy on the site here's. Screen name MAX or something. He actually made NSS ( The Nautique surf system plates) that can turn that 220 into a fully automated system like the newer boats. The only wake knock against the 220 is the wakeboard wake is sensitive to weight side to side . That's the trade off of the deeper v , but bonus is that it takes little less weight to get wakes macking.

All in all if you're looking for a primary surf boat the 220 is a great choice. Price wise. If you can snatch that up under 40 you're on the money to a good deal if it looks as clean and well maintained in person as in the pics. At 196hrs it's just getting broken in. 38 would be were I'd like to see that at most 39 if it's truly in almost showroom condition. , the 220 just has never demanded the premium of the 210.

All the previous posts are accurate regarding the performance of the 220 hull, I will say that my experience match these posts. I have a 230 currently, and would say the 220 wakeboard wake is steeper than a 230, and will provide an excellent surf wake with the right setup.

I have a little personal experience with this very boat in the listing. I "had a deal" to purchase that boat from the broker who listed it as a "repo recovery" boat. At the time, the engine was freeze damaged and needed to be repaired. I do not know how much damage there was to the engine as I could never get the broker to send me the sales contract for the boat. If the engine repair was done correctly, and with the right parts, the boat should be fine, not sure if the title is listed as a "salvage" unit, or if Texas uses that designation for boats.

If you are not mechanically inclined, take it to a dealer or mechanic to have it checked out. No problems with buying a boat that has had an engine failure, just have it checked out for a proper repair.
Just FYI, a cracked block is not that big a deal, new block, low hour internals fitted, and it's almost like new...A new short block would be better, but honestly a well done engine rebuild with low hour engine internals would be just fine.
