OPINION: Decal- Remove, change or keep??

Wanting to get some Nautique owner opinions. I am seriously wanting to remove the "griffin" decal from my 230 for 2 reasons. 1st I think it would look super clean and slick without it and secondly, make it more "timeless". I have seen in other post where owners remove them, but can't find any in solid white.

Another option I'm thinking about is to remove the current decal and adding a custom vinyl decal, mimicking the gel coat paint scheme on the 2014 and newer 230's.

Anyone think doing oping either of these will hurt or help my re-sale when the time comes??

    Thanks!

My thoughts are this is going to be personal preference to your liking and no I don't think it will hurt resale to take them off or have newer style ones made.
I think it looks great with the griffin, it'll look super clean with them off yes! That being said... I also think it would look pretty darn good if you had a good graphics shop make a design like the newer boats gel coat lines, it would have to be done right tho. That's a tough decision for sure. Photo shop could help you see what it would look like before pulling the trigger.

I'm 60/40 on yours. Leave the griffin and stripping it off.

being all white... I think yours is where the grif looks best.

if you had 2-3 colors... I'd tell you to strip it off.

these decals are expensive... not something to play around with till you get it right.

spend the $4-600 you'd have spent on decals for a high end detail... and enjoy your boat!

I'm debating doing this to my boat too. As of now I'm leaving them on. I think you're good either way but my vote is to pull it.

Heres a quick photoshop of your boat. If you want a better detailed one, upload a higher res photo.

Tint the windshield, remove the chromax side letters and replace with either black or the new white chromax. Re-evaluate after that. Not sure if the new white chromax matches the 2012 gel.

Brichter's photoshop is really helpful. All clean looks pretty darn good. I don't think you can get away with the 2014+ graphics because of the vents in the rear. That chrome chromax has got to go. Black or white will modernize it because it wasn't offered until later.

I agree, to do the 2014+ accent in vinyl, it would have to be modified slightly to accommodate the vents. But I think it could be made very close. Changing the chromax to the 2014+ type would would have to be done to make it even closer. But now we getting into some serious $$$$$.

Ditch the graphic, tint the windshield, and get white chromax. Even if you just ditch the graphic I think that photoshop looks awesome.
