Top end speed of a Nautique 200 OB with the 6.0 engine

Recently demo'd a 200 OB and was surprised that the top end speed only got to abt 45 mph. Had 5 people in the boat at sea level-boat set up foe slalom comp. does this sound normal? What should the top speed be with this set-up?

The 200 is a slower hull than the 196 was, but 45 with 5 people is respectable.

I am curious, what prop and what RPMs did it make?

I haven't not dropped mine in the water yet, but I have been told it should make 45-47 with the H5 at sea level and the approved ACME prop; the 6.0 should be a touch faster with 60 more HP (but about the same torque).

My 200 OB with the 6.0 409 does 53 on gps with he hydro gate in the right position.

yup, should do 52-53 with gate up. 5 people and slalom mode will definitely not give you the full capability of that boat/engine combo.

52-53, really? Call me skeptical. 5 people won't slow the boat down 7+mph. 52-53 is 409 196 territory, I thought the 200 was nearly 5mph slower.

The reports are the new 6.2L GDI monster pushes it to at least 55. 53 seems a bit optimistic to me as well with the 409, but I suppose it depends on conditions and the prop.

I ran my '16 with the 5.3l this week with the wife and boy and pretty empty. 43 and change with gate in slalom; 46 and change with gate in jump mode. Near sea level.

My bad, I misread the 6.0 part...was thinking 6.2 DI. Those are fast.
