    Nautique Comparison

I'm back in the market for another Nautique. I previously owned a 2002 SANTE and 1996 SS. I found that the sweet spot in both of those boats was about 2400 lbs and 5 people. I used to wakeboard about 75% of the time and surf 25% of the time. It is now closer to 50/50 (**** those knees!). I have been looking at 210s again (generally from 2002-2005) as that is what is in my price range. I'd love to be able to afford a 230/236 but it is out of reach at this point which means a G is totally out of the question.

Recently, I came across a good deal on a 2009 210. I have ridden behind a 2007 and it was pretty nice. I like the idea of the 09 being a little bigger and providing a little more room. For those of you familiar with the OG 210 (1995-2006), how does it compare to the 09 210 as far as wake/surf wave goes? Is the 09 hull the same as the 07 hull?

Since the 09 210 is a little bigger, is a 343 enough given the amount of weight I typically run? Add in the fact that I'm at altitude (6224').

I appreciate the information in advance. #nautiquesonly

Yes, 07 & 09 hulls are the same
Yes 343 is more than enough
cant comment on surf as I only surf in the ocean.
wake on OG210 is steeper. But wake on the 07 is also macking.

The 343 is plenty for the 210.

Comparing it to the OG San

i logged a $&&@ ton of hours behind both.

Surf. There is no question the surf wake is steps above the OG SAN. The pocket is double in size and then some.

Wakeboard wake : Well. Purely preference. I will say my favorite wake of all time is the OG San with about 2500 in it at 24.5mph and 80-85ft of rope. There is no other wake that even comes close , even by today's g's standards. It's so unique it's it's own beast and will forever live in infamy. The new 07-current 210 doesn't have that straight up knee buckling pop, However the transition is much longer and smoother, it's much easier on the knees , and landings are butter compared to the old boat. You ride a 70-75ft line. The wake is still full of pop , it's nice wake. Still a little peakier than the 04-11 XStar. But not near the OG SAN. It got a bad rap in the 07 era because it was such a drastic change from the OG SANon all the forums , but once the dust settled riders of all caliber started really loving the wake. It became much more versitile and way easier to manage. It was right on par and made transitioning from brand to brand way easier for tourneys and comps. You'll gain triple the storage , twice the amount of space , a smoother ride, and all the ballast can be hidden. It's not the rocket ship out of the hole as the OG SAN because prop diameter is limited , but again the 343 is still plenty.

I ride my 08 with about 2200lbs at 23-23.5. I dropped the speed a bit and shortened the rope and it has a nice firm lip. I started thinking 24.5 was it but couple guys I know said drop the speed. And they were right.

Overall you will will not be disappointed , There is a reason it's still one of the best selling boats on the market with minimal hull change . The 07-current hull saw a small tweak in 2014 just to work better with NSS. It really wasn't noticeable on the wakeboard side.

The wakeboard wake on the 07-current 210 is banging. Very hard to beat in all honesty, unless youre on a G. Like swat mentions, it has a lot of ramp to in, but then has a very pronounced lip at the top. The boat itself, is a wake machine! Just sack it, drop the hammer, pull back the hydro gate & it just creates the perfect wake. Tracks super straight and the wake is super easy to dial and is just always "right". I also pretty much ride with about 1500 in sacks on top of the 3 internal ballast and ride at 23.2 - 23.5

Im in the same boat as crowmobe540, lurking at newer 210s. Also does it feels like a much bigger boat towards OG210?

It is bigger and definitely feels bigger as well, with tons more storage. The new 210 handles and drives amazingly well and like stated above... It's a wake machine!

Quite honestly your getting double the inside useable space storage and seating when compared to the og 210. They did a great job with the convertible lounge and the huge storage coffins........all while keeping itv in a manageable 21ft category.
