G23 w/ XS7

Whats everyones thoughts on the XS7 in the G23? Im looking at a 2016 with the Xs7 and wasn't sure if it will be a bad idea or not. Is the fuel consumption outrageous compared to the H6? any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated.

It will use more gas than an H6 for sure, but it is a really fun engine too. My '13 had an XS7, and it was a blast! You can put as much weight in the boat as you want, that's for sure!

Both my G23s have had the XR550 (XR7?) and it might use a little more fuel but that the price you pay for that extra low down torque, my next one will have the same motor.

I had the same problem when buying our boat and as our last boat (07 236) struggled with the extra ballast, and I know I want as big a surf wake as possible I decided to go with the xr7 to make sure we had enough. I think it really it depends on what your use is going to be, I can't wait to find out how it goes.

I have the 550 in my 2016 G23. I can't compare it to the H6 but I'm glad to have the power. It certainly will use gas, but I'm at altitude (5,000+ at times) and am grateful for that extra power. Great motor...really quiet!
