Cost & Customer Service Comparison - Seadek and GatorStep

Not to beat a dead horse as I know there are a thousand Seadek and a few GatorStep threads, but curious for feedback from anyone who's had recent experience with either one of these suppliers. Posts going back a few years ago indicated Seadek's customer service wasn't great, but wondering if they've stepped up their game with their recent surge in sales.
From their website, it appears GatorStep has revamped their lineup and looks pretty sharp. Of course, with the revamp also probably comes an increase in costs.

    Thanks in advance for feedback.

I've been working with GatorStep and in fact waiting for my material to be cut and delivered. I can say they have been very accommodating and I can actually talk to the owner on the phone. I had some template problems and during the final approval, spent 20 minutes on the phone hashing out details. I do think they're going through a little bit of growing pains, especially during the boat show season because I had to follow up a few times on getting my templates returned. But, I didn't feel it was a big deal.
The pricing was better for sure, around $22 sq/foot.
Of the one or two times I've tried to contact Seadek, once via phone and once via email. I got ZERO response which sealed the deal to go with GatorStep.

The problem is you cannot contact Seadek period... If you have a newer boat with Seadek already and just need something replaced you need to contact a your Nautique dealer. If you have an older boat without Seadek or want custom work done you need to contact an authorized Seadek reseller like SC Wake... http://scwake.com

Gator Step is local to me, so I've met the guys there. Good family business that's really taken off recently so they're busy, but I keep hearing great feedback on their customer service from others buying from them. I'm going to place a small order myself soon.

I was going to go for seadek just because nautique uses them in all the new boats. I was wanting some custom parts of my boat done too on the deck like what you see on all new ones. If customer service is much better at gator step I might consider using them

Gatorstep is excellent to work with. The prices are more reasonable as well. I would use them again. I've used Seadek on a few boats and Gatorstep on 1 boat. The products are identical.

I'm currently working with SC Wake and they're doing a heck of a job. I've been really impressed with communication and customer service. They did dry fit prints for my boat, I had some changes I sent them and doing final proofs now. So far so good. I priced Gator Step to this option and it was pretty comparable. Also SC Wake is in my home state of Indiana and like keeping my business as local as possible

Unless Gatorstep has changed in the last couple of years, their standard flooring is thinner than SeaDek. That works fine for most applications, but not the same guage. At the time GS would quote the 6mm as an option, but that extra 20% thickness comes at a premium.

I asked Gatorstep if they could make the flooring look like a new nautique, they said sure. Received quotes from GS and SD, both 6mm grey faux teak. GS was about 20% less costly. And they didn't charge me for the trail fitting kit. Would certainly go to them again.
