    2016 210 or 230 with 5.7L?

    Hey all

I'm looking to pick up one of the left over 2016 models and deciding between the 210 and 230. However, the only engine options left are the PCM 5.7Ls. I was originally only looking at the 210s since I prefer small groups, usually just my wife and daughter, but liked the size of the 230 after sitting in a 210. I'm concerned how capable the engine is in the larger 230 with full ballast. What's been yalls experience?

    Thanks!

Really depends on what you plan on doing on the boat. If more wakeboard then surf I'd go 210. If mostly surfing then 230. If you do occasional slalom skiing it can be ok with the 210. Other than that if you weight/size restrictions to deal with obviously the 210 is a better fit. I love my 210 and never feel like it's too small. Storage is small after you cram sacs into the storage locker and bow but I live on the lake and don't care about storage.

Based on the video below, I don't think a performance difference is a concern.
I have the 210 with the 5.7 and am completely satisfied.
We mostly surf and do a little wakeboarding and skiing.
I plumbed in more ballast in the rear but still am able to keep my storage trays in also.
My boat also stays on the lake and we swap out boards and skis at my dock so storage is not an issue for me

There was a huge debate back when the 230 was redesigned. The consensus was definitely that the 5.7 was adequate for
most practical purposes.........but nobody has ever complained of having too much engine. You'll see plenty of 230's on the market with the 5.7 in it .

What hat do you plan to do with the boat priority wise????? Wakeboard...........surf..........ski?????? As mentioned is wakeboard is priority 210 wins hands down. If surf is priority 230 . If you want a jack of all trades. Surf, wakeboard , ski 210.

I'm glad to see that there hasn't been any complaints out of the 5.7L. I wakeboard 100% since that is all my current boat is capable of. However,I just hit my 30's and have several injuries, so I'll probably take it a bit easier and take advantage of the surfing. I will be trailering to the lake each time so storage is somewhat important on priority, but I've also been dealing with the storage of an 87 Ski Nautique!!

So 39 myself. Been wakeboarding little over 18yrs and have ridden crap ton of boats . Unused to ride at 24.5 mph. 75-80ft line and go hard . I am 3 knees and 3 shoulders deep , only (1) from wakeboarding. I have dropped the speed down to 23-23.5, taken the old 4K in ballast down to around 2500, and shortens the rope to 75ft on the 210. You can even get that speed down to 21mph with ballast. That won't happen in a 230.

The 230 stil requires you to ride pretty fast when filled with ballast. The 14 and up 210 has a considerably better surfwake than the 07-13. Personally , you're trailering , You primarily wakeboard at the moment, have kid(s) that will eventually want to give it a go. The 210 is a great family Watersports wake that can really be mellowed out , whereas the 230 wake can be. It intimidatiing even empty to newbs. Personally I vote 210 here

I appreciate the input. I took yalls advice and went with the 210. Took it out this weekend and have no regrets. Suprisingly, I took no personal pictures, so heres from the dealership. Also saved a bit, and found a 2014.
