I was told to not drive to fast with full ballast as it will stress motor and driveline. What does everyone think about it.

What's considered too fast? I don't really see a point in going 35mph with ballast, but say wakeboarding speeds of course!

What do you consider fast? The boats are engineered to handle full ballast at wakeboard speeds (except when shafts start breaking. lol) - I don't see why you'd ever want to drive it faster than that with full ballast though. Anytime you add weight you are putting more stress on the drive train but IMO why have a boat if you're not going to use it for what it's meant for.

WOW I use the boat for wakesurfing.Last time I checked it is an intended use. When windy we go with the wind then turn to go back. We either have to go idle speed or get soaked with bow spray.at idle it can take 15 minutes.Just wondering how fast to go.

The '16 will be much better about the spray.
I would not be concerned running fast with full ballast. You'll use more fuel, but the boat can certainly handle it.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. We specializes in Nautiques and Correct Crafts, and also provide general service for Nautiques fifteen years old and older.

Running fast shouldn't be an issue. The boat works a lot harder accelerating up to planing speed then it's much less stress once it's on plane. Running WOT for anything more than short distances is bad for the engine, that should be written in your PCM manual.Previously: 2015 SAN 210

Last October. My G23. Good buddy. Heart attack. Middle of Lake Tillery. Trust me, the G runs just fine at WOT with full ballast.

He had the widowmaker and actually survived it. Very rare. Thanks to a Nautique that runs fast under full ballast and the quick work of the Norwood, NC volunteer EMS, he made it. It was touch & go for a while though.
That was the last time my boat was out. I need to get it back on the water get some better mojo on it.
