1998 Air Nautique Rub Rail question on shape

I am looking to replace my rub rail and I am a little unclear on which shape is correct. Can some clarify?

OPTION 1

I saw a few a post that referenced the followingTaco Metal as correct?
Using the rub rail selection guide this is the one TM recommends?
V11-3447 or V11-347BKA50 is the shape below, but I do not think this is whats on my boat.

Option 2

This one seem to more closely matches what I currenly have, so let me know your thoughts? I would like to avoid any mistakes when ordering because this stuff is not cheap.

Seem like my dim are ~1 5/8 tall x 1 1/4 wide and more oval shaped like this one.

I always heard that the Taco rubrail was correct. I'm actually glad you posted this because I am thinking of replacing the rubrail on my '98 Ski Nautique too. Interested to hear what others think about this.

There was a thread on CCFan titled "blue rub rail insert" or something like that?? Ended up with quite a bit of good info on the correct rail and also on various color inserts, sizes and where to buy them.

Does anyone know if the product w/ green stiffner works better than the option 2 above with the molded solid piece? I think I am going w/ option 2 unless someone has information to suggest otherwise.

The rub rail is not made by Taco, it's made by Integrity Marine. You can buy it directly from them for around 300. Part numbers are

F92033 -- 50ft of uniflex rub rail
F779 -- 50ft black insert tubing

They don't have the color inserts any more but you can you colored hose if you want to keep the color. The post that Quinner references above has good info on the rubrails from the era.1987 to 2005.

Thanks Blamey. I noticed the '96 SS I'm buying has a purpleish insert. I'll order new rail and insert in black. Anyone done this? Is it easy? Seems pretty straightforward.

I ordered my rub rail from integrity from Mark D. (listed as contact at the btm of website). Super nice guys and very informative with a ton of product knowledge. He informed me that the 92033 is the match for the original rub rail used in 1998. Also told me that the green stiffner helps with dempeling and wavyness vs the black 1-pcs molded plastisc w/o stiffner seen in other places. Seems there's friendly competition between integrity and taco. By the way Integrity has a factory in Atlanta. Personally, I'm not sure if that's all true or not when considering the stiffner, but I can tell you the rub rail on my boat has been there for 19 plus years so it must work pretty good, and let me tell you it's been through some tough times. Hope this helps someone else down the road.
