    2 Battery boxes

    I have just recently purchased a 1984 SN 2001 with 2 battery boxes Left of the drivers seat. I owned a 1987 SN 2001 about 17 yrs ago with only 1 battery box.
    I am curious as to why they are different?

      On my 83 SN, one is a battery box and one is a cooler. I personally use them both as battery boxes for a dual battery setup. I'm guessing at some point before 1987 they dropped the cooler. It's pretty small and hard to get to. I can't imagine actually using it as a cooler.

          It was mentioned to
          me that boats with 2 boxes were made at the request of Sea World for their tow boats. Cooler seems logical....but I will use it for 2nd battery when sound system is installed.
