    Factory Cam

It is still raining here in the northeast... Not much to do, so I thought I'd check the web cam of the factory...

These shots were taken over the weekend. I realize these guys are most likely the contractor's painter and they're probably not associated with CC...

It looks like they're using water from the hydrant to rinse out buckets of paint. Even if this is latex paint, isn't it illegal to allow this into the environment?

I just think it is funny that, if what they're doing is illegal, they did it in front of the web cam.

If not illegal, maybe it is just irresponsible.

Very common to see this happening on just about every construction site I am on.

Its alright, after its all done they're just going to dump all the toxic waste at this crappy landfill at Vonore, TN.

Hmm... this is strange... it seems that CC has taken down the cam. The last shot is from today at 4:31 AM. I don't know about anyone else but I find this a little suspicious that CC takes their cam down the day a post goes up about the possibility of them doing something illigal, despite the fact that it may happen at all construction sites...

CC is one strange company... god knows how they make such good boats (no pun intended)

          RE: Factory Cam

I am in the construction business, and this is very common when working with water based paints. We usually creat a dirt berm around the washout area and then at the end of the project simply scoup up the dirt and dump it in the dumpster for haul-off. On interior finish projects, the painters usually wash-out in the mop sink, which sends the paint to the sewage treatment facility. Which is worse? My experience tells me dumping in the sink is worse, because the paint tends to collect on the inside of the pipes and can clog the pipes eventually.

IMHO, this is no big deal and probably not illegal if the paint is contained on the site. If it is allowed to leave the site, I would think it would be an issue. But, clearly this is not the case from the photos above.

i'd be more concerned with the gas/oil that leaves our boats into the water.
            I don\'t care.

I know it's probably unrealistic to think this but it would be nice if CC provided periodic updates/photos on the progress of their new factory either through their website or here.

One would think that they would want to create some 'buzz'

Anyone know if the factory tours will restart when the new factory is completed.
I asked for a tour in February 2005 and was told they had stopped at the current factory.
Also, as Eggie suggests, it would be nice to see how things are progressing with the new facility.

Did anyone else notice CC has updated the address of their Headquarters on their web site?

Instead of the S. Orange Ave address it is now listed as 14700 Aerospace Parkway, Orlando, FL. 32832.

I'd assume once they've moved into the new building and the workers have had a chance to adjusted to the new work environment they'll reopen the factory to tours.

Hopefully that will be soon... I've taken the tour of the old factory twice (93 and 98), it is interesting and worth stopping in if your in the area. I'm hoping to visit the parks next year and would like to tour the new factory.

Best Wishes to everyone. I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday!

I was in Orlando last year and tried to get a tour and was told they would resume in the new facility.

From what I have heard (and I have heard) they have moved and it was pretty lame. Apparently no computers for days and as I suspected everything all messed up. I am sorry for them that they have no current information (I havent checked but according to the posts) as far as the new location. What can you expect from a company whose Human Resource Department doesnt have anyone who holds any type of degree that you would expect a company employee with that type of responsiblity to have... okay I'm bitter but what the heck. At least I can provide you guys with information.

"Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul"
