Looking for a little input on the above boats, will be making the move from Malibu to Nautique. Our family and friends will mostly surf and need a 21' or 20' boat to fit in the garage. Currently have a deposit on a new SAN 210 but wondering if its worth spending another 10k on the GS20. Haven't had a chance to surf the GS20 yet. Any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

We would primarily be using the boat for surfing, (have two young kids who will start off waterskiing / wakeboarding in the next couple years). My dealer told me that the 210's aren't going anywhere and they will be placing their order for 2018 210's in the next couple months. Is a concern though that the 210's will not be as desirable in the future. I have surfed a 2016 210 but have not had a chance to ride behind the gs20. Would be interested in hearing how the two surf waves compare.

There's a lot of people still buying new 210's, don't let that scare you at all. The GS I'm sure is an incredible boat, I'd just ride them both and see what fits your needs best. Not many are going to have much time behind the GS. I know the GS is roomy and big inside, but for me there is just something about buying a 20' boat that would be hard. I know an extra foot is not much and the GS lays out well enough to make up for it probably, but it's still 20'.

I have a 2015 210 and after looking at the GS20, if I had it to do all over again, I would definitely by the 210 again.
For me, I don't like the low tower and low bimini on the GS20, I would have to duck every time I move around in the boat.
There's no comfortable seating to face the rear and watch the action, there are no rear facing seat backs.
My wife likes the filler cushions for the rear walk through, great for laying out and relaxing........not happening on the GS20.
The GS20 may be a newer model but the 210 is awesome and works perfect for us.Previously: 2015 SAN 210

Lets be honest here....the 210s and 230s will disappear. Maybe they stay around another year but the GS boats are definitely outselling the 210 and 230 so their time will pass.2015 G23 550

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying don't buy a 210, I'm saying don't buy a new one. If you want new, and the GS20 is too small...get the GS22.Last edited by vanhanbr; 04-05-2017, 04:38 PM.2008 SAN 210

I don't work for Nautique, just info from the owner of my dealership who is a reliable source and happens to be a friend. In their minds the 210 is their budget or entry line boat. Demand will still be there regardless of what's out there, look at the demand for the OG 210's and Sport Nautiques. Hard for all the G owners to understand I know, but not everyone wants or needs all that boat.

- Nautique currently has 7 v-dive models to choose from, some of their competitors have that many or more. Is that too many for a growing market?
- What's the demand and profit margin for the 210/230?
- The GS line may be selling good now and taking some sales from the 210/230 but will that hold up once the novelty (newness) wears off?
- Some of the differences between the 210 and the GS20 may be considered clear advantages for the 210 such as: Taller tower & bimini, rear facing seating, etc. Clearly, the GS20 has some advantages also but the tower height and the rear facing seating are deal breakers for me.
- If Nautique discontinues the 210, do they risk losing those potential customers to other brands? Because of some of the shortcomings of the GS20 there is no chance I would buy it, if the 210/230 were not available I may look at other brands before I pay the extra money to move to the GS22
I could go on and on but in the end it will come down to whether it's a profitable line for Nautique. If there are enough people buying them then Nautique will continue to build them.Previously: 2015 SAN 210

I confirm via my sources as well that the 210 isn't going anywhere soon.
