    2018 G23 Rumors?

Not sure if it is too early to speculate, or if it is even worthwhile, but wondering if there are any semi-credible rumors regarding the 2018 G23's?

The only one I have heard that might make sense is a tweak to the rear-end, but the hull staying largely the same. It kind of makes sense as I could perhaps see Nautique going with a GS22 style rear on the G23, with the transom "seats".

The jury is still out on those. They cannot be used while under way. My neighbor has a Mastercraft that has those transom seats and they're utterly useless.

Please don't do rear transom seats. They decrease the size of the rear opening hatch, which is a problem for accessing huge rear storage lockers.

we used ours all the time, its one of the things we will miss jumping from MC to a G..... those and Clamping Racks ...

weather we are getting ready to ride or just hanging out, the seats on the rear of the MC were used every time..

You can get PTM clamping racks on a G.

I have the same opinion as lashburn.... came from a MC X23, and definitely miss the transom lounge seats. Everyone in my crew does. We used them constantly. I think it's one of those things..... if you've never had them, you don't see the use. If you have had them, it's hard to give them up.... especially the MC "transom lounge" setup (they have 2 different styles). The transom lounge seats are the most comfortable seats in the boat, and are awesome for chilling with a reward beer at sunset after riding for a bit.

i missed the clamping racks as well, but installed ptm racks. They aren't as nice as MC racks, but they do the job.

I find it amusing how the boat companies race to copy each others good/bad ideas. Nautique had (good) reversible rear seats forever, than ditches them in the 210/230 and now everyone has them. Nautique ditched the (bad) weird seating in the 2007 210 / 220 and then Mastercraft copies it in their most expensive boats. Now Nautique runs with the transom seats ....

To me, its looks like a trailing wave would drench the cushions in a GS. I'm sure this idea originated with the stern drive boats, but they sit up much higher off the water.

Please no more transom seats from Nautique. The NH Marine Patrol would foam at the mouth to pull you over if they saw someone sitting in those underway.

On the note of manufacturers copying each other PLEASE no windshield without the sides like MC and Axis.

I think they're good and bad. I wouldn't want them because I like my storage space. But I can see the appeal for lounging and beer drinking. If they flipped open for access like the Pavati ones do I'd be all over it.

Sounds like a la cart options would be nice in '18. I love our side-less windshield, but understand one may want wrap around.

Love the idea of rear lounges. We do a fair amount of chilling in coves. I wear and insulin pump, so I cant stay in the water and this keeps me comfortably in the action. MC has a new "prop up" seat back on the hatch lids. My buddy ordered an XT20 so I am interested to see how those work. sort of a best of both worlds. Non-wrap windshield is nice for grabbing stuff while docking, talking to a downed rider...super practical.

The MC transom lounge seats also flip open gullwing style for compartment access from the platform.

Ya that's one thing that MC definitely does right is the way their seats open and close.
