Wayward, thanks for posting your experience. I bought a spare for my 2015 G23 and figured that for fun, I would not want the exact same 17 X 17. The only option at the time was a 17 X 16.5 from acme. It has never been out of the box on either my 2015 or 2016. I would expect it to run higher RPM's but be able to pull a freight train.
I would be willing to be the guinea pig if Wayward will send me his prop and I can see how it works for my H6 G23 at 2700 feet.
I currently run 3400 RPM on full stock ballast surfing. I have not timed how long it takes to get to 23MPH with full ballast, but it seems like the boat leaps to 13 MPH in an instant and then drags along to 13-19 MPH, then accelerates again. I am a little concerned that at my elevation, the higher pitch might worsen that.
I have never thought of my boat as being loud. The 2015 Malibu LSV was turning 4000 RPM to surf and that was loud. But It was the new hull and it was obvious that Malibu had not yet figured out which prop to put on the boat.
