Just curious what you all are doing on 1st gen G Wagons for a little lead. Ive heard adding some on port to offset and some in bow... Ive added 750s in rear lockers. How much and where did you find the best deal on it.
the G definitely likes a few extra pounds on the port side. i run with 200 more on the port, and that keeps the wake clean on both sides. If you have 750 extra in each rear locker, you'll want about 750 total extra up in the bow (assuming you're talking about the setup for wakeboarding).

I put two 750's in the rear, filled starboard 75% full, port 100% full, 2 250's under the bow seats and another 400 lbs of lead under the bow cushion... wave was the best!!
I have 400# of lead in the bow equally positioned plus have two 1,100s in the rear lockers. We fill factory tanks full then fill the port side bag 1/2 to 2/3 and maybe 1/3 full on the starboard side. That's our recipe for an epic surf wake.
Find a local shop that uses lead for their products and see if they will sell you an ingot or two. I Googled and found a supplier that gave me the name of who they sold to locally in my area. I contacted them and they were willing to sell to me. It was a company that made lead plumping roof vents.

The products from www.wakeballast.com and www.leadwake.com are very similar but from my research the bag from leadwake appears to be better. Supposedly it has a more dense lining and a foam insert. I spoke to wakeballast and their bag didn't sound quite as good. I ordered 700# on Tuesday from leadwake. I can update this thread when I receive.
+2 on leadwake. I have 16 lead bags (50 lbs each) from them, have used them 3 seasons, leave on my dock when not in use and they function/look great. They use USPS flat rate box to ship... you will have to go to the post office as your carrier will not want to lug these up to your door!!
Ordered up from Leadwake. Thanks for the discount code too! I like the idea of it being nicely sewn up with a handle rather than raw metal in the storage. Worth the extra $. Delivery should be interesting. Our mailman is not the brightest bulb in the chandelier.
I'm anxious to see how my mail carrier handles the delivery. She is an grump older very petite lady. She acts put out to walk a regular package up to our door. Plus 700# in the back of those little postal vehicles will probably bottom out the suspension. I'm guessing I get to make a trip to the post office to pick mine up....
