What lift do you use for your 211. Does anyone put a 211 on a lift weighted for 4000lbs or less? We purchased a Floe Vertical 4000, but thinking about trading up to VSD4500 (4500lb cap), but not sure its needed for the extra $1400.

RE: Boat Lift Weight Cap. for 211
I use a 4000lbs Lakeside lift for my 2005 211 TE and it has no problem. Most of the lifts will actually be ok with another 20% more than what they are rated at. To be safe go with the 4500, but the 4000 will probably do it.-Jon

RE: Boat Lift Weight Cap. for 211
Does the lift mount on the bottom, or is it a floating lift. My experience is that for lifts that sit on
the lakebed, folks get away with a lift rated closer to the boats weight. If it is a floating lifts, you want some extra capacity because when you load in gear, and a person or two, it can get a little dicey. BKH2001 Super Air

RE: Boat Lift Weight Cap. for 211
from the archives...
Never weighed my 211 but I use a 4000lb hydrohoist. With a full gas tank and gear it floats the boat no trouble. I can get in the boat too (another 190lbs) and it still stays up but the next person to jump on starts to sink the lift, my guess is 300lbs of bouyancy safety factor. I didn't give it much thought and lucked out. My guess is the actual weight of the 211 is closer to 3500lbs, I don't think it could be 3800lbs or my lift couldn't even lift the boat and full tank of gas. The lift was purchased in 1983 when we had a 2001, it floated about 5 inches higher with that boat. With the 211 only about an inch of the tanks are out of the water.
