Connecticut owners...I need marina advice

My sister moved to Hartford, Connecticut over the winter last year and she is looking for a marina for her G23. She was advised to look at Brewers at Deep River.

Thoughts? We have not seen any other surf boats when looking at the marinas but honestly...not many people have dropped in yet.

is she looking to keep it on the river, or considering lakes in the area? there are some nice lakes in CT but most are 30-45 min from hartford.

She is thinking river at this point. She is looking for a place where there might be other surf boats and not a bunch of fishermen.

This is no slight on fishermen...just a different crowd typically

from experience there aren't a lot of surf boats on the river past haddam. so i'd say look between hartford and haddam. once you get down to the area where the goodspeed opera house is, there's so many no-wake zones that it's frustrating to try surfing there. personally, i think between wethersfield cove and rocky hill is one of the best spots to surf on the river. narrow enough so that on windy days you still can find good water, but deep enough to put out a good wave still.

wethersfield cove yacht club is one i can think of that i've heard has good docking fees--i launch right across the cove from them. they will be the closest to hartford for her. seaboard marina is another one that's close to this stretch of good water (just at the opposite end), as well as hartford yacht club. both of those are farther from hartford though, in the glastonbury area.
