I have a new 2016 G23 that I bought last year in October and have just got around to bringing out for the first couple times this year. Long story short....Ive got the 550hp motor and I surf and wakeboard....I went looking for a prop that wouldn't be so overkill for all the power I had with the 550hp.
I surf with full stock ballast, 2400lbs of additional ballast plus 400-600lbs of people and gear.
I wakeboard with full stock ballast and 400-600lbs of people and gear.
Below is an email conversation I had with ACME engineering via Delta Props. Both of this companies were ridiculously helpful and as you see from the last recommendation from ACME, I think I am going to try the 3081 prop....I wanted to pass this along to anybody else out there looking to drop their rpms a little bit while surfing and wakeboarding. The 550hp is a MONSTER with the 2:1 and ACME even says, the G23's and G25's are WAY underpropped. This is awesome info for anyone shopping for a new prop. I was shocked to see we could throw an 18" prop on there....Does anybody have any thoughts on this? Anyone tried this?
And "props" to Delta, for going the extra mile and offering the great discount!!! They beat everyone out there!

Wow, this is awesome. I would like to continue this conversation a little bit. ACME is spot on. I have a 2016 G23 with of course 2:1 and a 550hp motor. I have the 2561. I surf and wakeboard.
Surf setup - full stock ballast plus 2400 additional plus 400-600 of people and gear. Goal is to run 3000rpm or less. Fellow G23 owner runs 3047 prop and reports 2950-3000rpm at around 11.5mph at similar weight.
Wakeboard setup - only full stock ballast plus 400-600 people and gear. Goal is to run around 3400rpm at 23mph.
If there is a better option than 3047 I would 100% like to try. If not, I will wait for the 3047 to be available.
Thanks so much!!! Cant wait to share this info with fellow G23'rs.

SECOND EMAIL CONVERSATION....Gary at Delta Props contacted ACME directly and clarified dimension on the 3047 prop. He also got a TON more info for me, which led me down the road of exploring other props.
I contacted Acme regarding the 3047 propeller.
The product sheets, which we have, show the 3047 as a 19 pitch propeller.
It is however a 19 ½ pitch propeller.
I received this reply from Acme
I’m sure this is regarding a G23 or G25 (or Malibu 235) with the 550 / 575 Supercharged engine, 2:1 gear, almost certainly 2016 or newer, and most likely currently running Acme # 2561 or Acme # 2805.
The 3047 is a good choice, but we have other viable options which are closely equivalent, and perhaps even better depending on the exact use and amount of ballast and performance objectives, etc…
# 3047 --- 17.00 X 19.50 VL4B 1.25 .105 Cup
# 2965 --- 17.50 X 19.50 VL4B 1.25 .075 Cup
We are out of stock on these two props/part numbers (above) right now… Waiting for more inventory. (probably about 2 to 4 weeks)
But these boats described will also accept 17.5” & 18” dia.
So some other options which can be considered, which we do have stock available on (currently):
# 3043 --- 17.00 X 19.00 VL4B 1.25 .075Cup
# 3057 --- 17.00 X 19.00 VL4B 1.25 .150Cup
# 3049 --- 17.00 X 19.50 VL4B 1.25 .150Cup
# 2963 --- 17.50 X 20.00 VL4B 1.25 .105Cup
# 3081 --- 18.00 X 17.50 VL4B 1.25 .105Cup
# 2955 --- 18.00 X 19.50 VL4B 1.25 .075Cup
# 2953 --- 18.00 X 20.00 VL4B 1.25 .105Cup
Not sure, we may have some other options available also… But I tried to offer you a quick list of comparable propellers, which we currently have 1 or 2 or 3 pcs in stock on.
For these applications, diameter will be a bonus/plus… they will like more diameter (vs. pitch and/or cup) in virtually every aspect. Just watch the hub length (be aware of hub lengths). The rest of it basically just comes down to matching appropriate load in terms of pitch and/or cup.
But these boats are pretty forgiving. Most of them are currently under-propped, such that they have plenty of power to spare.
Please Note: Some of these part numbers may have 3.0” hub lengths, others 3 3/8” hub lengths, and we even have some parts for Sea Ray with 3 3/4” hub lengths (I’d have to check to see which ones have which hub lengths). Both the Malibus & the Nautiques should be fine with 3” and/or 3 3/8” hub lengths, but it just will affect the amount of space between the hub and the strut and possibly which puller can be used.

FIRST EMAIL CONVERSATION BELOW...I inquired about the 3047 propeller since another fellow member has tried(with good luck) this prop on his G23. I wanted to know if they had it and for them clear up some confusion on the actual dimensions.
Awesome, thanks! I have seen conflicting info on pitch of this prop. Some are saying it's a 17x19.5 and some say it's a 17x19. One person even has one that is stamped 3047 and shows 17x19.5 stamped as well. Do you physically have any there that you can look at?
