I have a Ramp N Clamp on my trailer, and it works great. Like GemCitySurf I spray some lube on it so it doesn't leave marks. Another thing I do is drive the trailer deep in the water before loading, to wet down the bunks. That seems to allow the boat to drive up on it much better.

This makes me miss old days when your sn had the bow stop and turnbuckle. People at the ramp didn't know what to think

the Ramp N Clamp doesn't work the greatest with a G boat bc of the placement of the eye. I had one on my boatmate trailer for my XStar and only used it one time before deciding to never do so again! One simple slip and miss of the clamp and you could easily mess the hull up or put the boat into the back of the truck! At least I felt so. These boats are pretty heavy and therefore take quite a bit more throttle than a bass boat (which works great with ramp n clamps) to get onto the trailer which in turn leaves less room for error. I personally use TallRedRider's method and it's really not that hard. I don't even get in the water to do so (but I do have the front steps on my trailer). Still no cure though for the marring left on the bow by the rollers.

Here is what works for me: I have my driver back the trailer until the bunks are just barely under water, I then drive the boat onto the trailer, which leaves it still about 24 inches from the eye. Then I hop out of the bow, (my wife is usually in the truck, so I don't make her get out) and I winch the boat up as she backs the trailer down farther. This requires the tow vehicle to be in the water up to the rear bumper on the ramps I frequent. Only then can I hand tighten the boat all the way up to where the bow eye meets the roller. Any less and it bounces as we go down the road.
Same with my Ramlin trailer, works like a champ. However, I have about 5 ft from the eye after driving the boat on the trailer, then I winch the boat while my wife back up the trailer down farther. Maybe the different ramp inclinations lead to the difference between 5 ft and 24 inches. My ramp is not inclined at all or very softly.

Very good point. The RNC works well with my light Prostar, but I don't know that I'd try it with a G. I can see the RNC about up to the second I connect to it. You could be flying blind with a big boat.

Alright!!! So there is no one stop load I can find so far that will load you with out risk... It's takes moving as someone suggested... Shallow at first and then easy trailer down until water pours in back glass of 4x4 lifted Excursion... joking of course but to get the stop down by the eye it's up to bottom of bumper... The idea of spraying the roller is great!!! I just used boat spray because it was handy.. Works pretty good so far.

                  Thanks for the ideas!

I can get my G21 about 5" from the bow roller. Then in the parking lot I'll hit the brakes a little and she'll slide right up! Then I'll tighten the winch.

G23 on a boatmate and never any issues. Pull it up as far as I can, crank it up until the ring is against the roller, pull out if water, quick hook the rear tie downs and we're heading down the road.

I think it has to do with how steep the ramp is. This past weekend I tried several times by backing the trailer deeper and cranking - I swear the strap is going to rip. Every time we got it tight and pulled out I still had a gap of an inch or two and zero strap left.
Went to a second ramp. Left the rear straps on with about 3 inches of slack. Backed it in, loosen the strap and cranked it right on... This is only the second attempt for us but Ill figure it out.
