    Storage on 2000 SAN 210

Hey guys just wondering where everyone stores their stuff on the older super airs. I have ballast in the ski locker and pretty much full in the back with ballast, extra vests in front right, anchor and rope all the way up, fenders left and then where do I put my nice jackets and cooler? I'm contemplating some kind of liner for behind the ballast in the ski locker but just wondering if there is a better way. I also assume that only dry items would go under the spotter seat. Oh and btw this is my first vdrive that I brought back to life after it sat for well over 2 years.. check out mt honemade ghetto gate!

I had plenty of room on top of my 750s for vests and ropes and stuff. I had a 375 bag in the belly which left room for skis.

Oh, and great looking boat. Try the gate in the angled part a little farther back. I think you'll like that better.

The way I did it with my 2005 was all of the life jackets/pumps/tubes (for the kids of course) went in the rear. Once we started filling the ballast bags, it all went to the bow. Your cooler can go on the side between the back seat and the observer or driver and it can double as a seat. If you can't put the jump seat between the driver and observer, it's darn near worthless IMO and just takes up valuable floor space. I could never find a use for that jump seat unless we were just cruising with a lot of people. As for the ski locker, you could gain some space there by yanking the ballast and putting in the equivalent weight in lead and leave the rest for storage. That'll gain some space there. You gotta be creative. A reasonable amount of lead is your friend. Give us more detail on how you use it. That'll help others come up with ideas for you.

I agree there's still room in the back for stuff with 750's, but you gotta adjust and/or remove stuff as the bags are filling or risk a kink in the bags in my experience.

I have the 750's on each side and I put all my life jackets on them and never have an issue when filling. Usually keep a tube and peoples bags under the spotters seat and my sand bar poles in my ski locker with my 600 bag in 500 lb bag in there. Ropes and smaller things I keep in my flip us seat in the back and cooler behind the drivers seat.

Please please please take that tether off the boat and attach it to something that floats. If that thing pops off you are going to carve up the side of your gorgeous boat.

Oh and I see your problem, you have the ballast hard tanks still in in your rear locker, Take those out and get 750s. You will have room for stuff on top of them

Everyone else kinda hit everything but the very first upgrade anyone should make in that era boat is removing the rear hard tanks and replacing with 750s. I can fill both of my rear bags and still fit 5 vests per side on top + 3-4 ropes/handles + throw able and odds and ends. Lose the observer seat as said earlier unless doing a cruise with a full boat and can fit it between driver and observers seat. Hard cooler behind driver's seat that doubles as a seat if needed, and then DIY wakesurf plates usually fit under the gunwale alongside/right behind the driverseat.

As far as gaining space beyond those basics, I moved my sub to a custom box behind the kickpanel under the helm (in my 2006 it requires repositioning the breakers and removing a fiberglass hump the kickpanel attaches to, lots of guides on here but it's some work). We then cut out the front bow cooler and then piggybacked an integrated bow bag. When we have enough people to fill up the bow the bag can stay empty and the whole bow through to the observers seat can be used for storage. I didn't want to mess with lead when putting the boat on the lift every day but some people again use lead to maintain more permanent storage space in the bow.

I stow surf boards on their side lengthways between in the walkway to the bow. I use a seat cushion also on the side from the front to keep them from rattling around. Most of the time I go with three in the boat, so I don't need the extra seating.

I considered strapping a large cooler to the ski step if I have a lot of people in the boat. I also kept my hard tanks and added bags to the rear. I still leave life preservers in there and ropes. The bags fill up, hit their limit and water dumps through the overflows. Personally, I don't think the hard tanks take up that much room. There is also some room forward of the ballast behind the outer corners of the rear couch / seat.

Keep stuff (towels and clothes) in the boat in a zippered bag. At least you can move it around and have it contained.

Brichter14 thanks for the warning on the surf device, I have seen other people say that as well. I actually tried it out further back though closer to the platform and it seemed to be sturdy but that would suck if it jacked up the boat. Yeah will do the 750s in the rear probably next year since I ran out of funds for bringing this boat back to life.. Maybe the end of summer I'll upgrade.
