I board / surf there as my home spot. I was going most fridays AMs for a long time, including in the winter when breaks from rain allowed. Probably 30 Fridays in the last year.
I haven't been for a month due to a vacation and work being too busy.

        We should hook up.

There's no Nautique in that picture....disappointing.

          JK, looks terrific!

Only bummer is it is about 5' to 10' depending upon the tide. I've heard for surfing 25' would produce a better wave. I don't have first hand experience with that, though.

I'm not much for cold water.... and a wet suit is not fun IMHO.
Hopefully water gets to upper 60's soon in lagoon.

Curious, have you figured out a good way to know if the tide allows launching at the private ramp there? Seems like all of the local tide data is extrapolated for Tamarack. And given the small entry to the lagoon mouth, there is definitely a delay, so I'm not 100% sure I can correlate to any tide table.

We launch at low tide. But the ramp is tricky to know where its safe.... and they only sell year passes now. 625$

I've seen it where the entire ramp is dry at low tide. Probably extreme low, but impossible to launch. Poorest ramp design I've ever seen. It'd be easy to build a small retaining wall around the current ramp with cinder block and some rebar stakes and then backfill with gravel so if you run off the end, your trailer wheels don't drop off and stuck behind the vertical ramp wall. I've seen that more than once with a new users who drove their trailer off the end.

But... great riding spot! And for me super convenient living in Leucadia. I don't want to sound overly negative about it. Just pricey for a ramp which for me only has 75% odds of being able to launch on any given day

I've seen another launch ramp on the East side at the end of a street near some of the bigger homes. Any idea if that is private or a use permit would be available?

I have had fist hand experience with shallow water surfing, and I will say that anything under 10' really has more of an impact than you would think while surfing! It REALLY kills the wave and push! 13' or deeper usually works fine...but the deeper the better!

This lagoon only gets to 12 ' highest tide. But it's only 2 blocks away so it's fun for a quickie. ..lol
                          this Is about 8'of water.
