Folding tower ... any clever ideas ??

I bought 2008 SAN 210 in march , my summer storage unit is coming available, but the door is only 10' ... I tried in driveway today , but no way I can fold this tower by myself ... anyone have a contraption that u came up with to do this ... my 14 yr old daughter and I put the boat in and out with just the two of us almost all time ... this is a really issue I did not think about much ... thanks

I know the towers from that era were difficult to fold. It's been discussed on here many times so maybe someone will have a solution.

It would help to know which tower you have, or a pic. I have an 08 230 with the titon tower and it's heavy, especially with 4 speakers but I can do it by myself.

I've come to the same conclusion...... purchased an 08 210 with FCT1 a few months ago and there is no way I am putting that tower up and down without three able bodied guys, it's just too heavy/awkward. I've just purchased a new cover as I can't keep ithe boat under cover in my usual spot.

The easiest option i have come up with it to put a set of ladders in the boat on the floor , then tie a rope from this to the tower and then from the ladders to the rear of the boat. You can then put a block and tackle on this to gain more leverage So can raise and lower in a controlled fashion. Top tip, look up videos on how yacht masts are raised, you'll get the idea.

I have the same problem. Only solution I have came up with is spend the money for a Roswell aviator tower

Quick release for speakers helped. Me and the wife were struggling with pro 80s on it. switched to rev 8s with quick release swivel mounts. still heavy, but manageable. we lift, she balances, I move forward and catch it. reverse the process to deploy

Why don't loop a rope around the top of the tower and around or thtough the two cleats in the back a couple of times. Leave enough slack from the cleats to under the tower where you can stand and play out rope as it lowers. Doubling it through or around the cleats should create enough grab that you can lower slowly while controlling tower. Just an idea....not elegant but might work

That's a good starting point, you'll need to raise the anchor point so that the tower can be controlled more easily, see the video above
