Help Need Advice On New/ Used Boat

First time posting on the forum and want to thank you all for the great information. I have spent the last several days searching all of the threads on a new to me used boat and wanted to see if anyone had anything new to chime in on. We are looking at a new to us 2005 226. The boat is near flawless and only has 126 hours on it. My couple of questions for you is A: what to look for on these boats that I am not aware of? B: The boat will be used by us for 80% surfing and 20% wakeboarding. From everything I have found is that it is a bit harder to setup a good wave due to the walkthrough? A quick history is we are coming off of our previous boat which was an Enzo that has been amazing. I have kept all of our sacks and all to try to carry over. Am I going to be disappointed in the new boat? Should I keep looking for a 220? Thanks for any advice as I am ready to pull the trigger and just wanting to be sure there are no regrets. Cheers

Having owned serveral Centurions , and being very familiar with the Enzo surf wake, and the 226 surf wake the answer is yes, you will be disappointed going from an Enzo to that. Not only is the walk through cutting down on ballast potentiometer , don't forget the prop rotation in the 226 will be spinning opposite of your Enzo . That is unless you ordered your Enzo with reverse rotation , (it was an option depending on the year of your Enzo).

if you really want a Nautique. The 220 is the boat you'll want in those years. Keep in mind same will hold true about the prop rotation for the 220 as well. In 2007 nautique switched their prop Rotation , so a 2007 220 will have the same rotation as your Enzo

Great information and my fear. We will continue to keep looking for a 220 then.

Quite honestly , performance wise on surf wakes alone, there isn't a Nautique that can compete with Tige , Centurion , and Supreme in the surf wake category from the era you'd be looking at. Any Nautique will perform under what those boats wild produce in that era. A G23 is arguably a competitor in the surf realm these days, but back then, Nautique was not known for its surf wakes.

I've had a 2003 226 and an 2008 220. Both great boats but as Swat says not gonna be as good a surfer as the Centurion in that year range.
