    Suck gate and the 230

Anyone using one that can give me the best placement? We've always surfed listed (Factory+750 rear, bow filler full, 400lbs in lead in various nooks) last year I built a suck gate, but never spent time trying to get it to work, because I just wanted to surf. Over the winter I found a Mission used. I tried it a little last week, but never found the right placement, but hey at least it stayed on.

So where is everyone putting them?

The rule-of-thumb is to get it as far back as possible.

Now for the vertical position on the hull..... You want it low, but not so low that a lot of water is flowing over top of it. You'll need to experiment to find the right spot.

Thanks, I had it so it was back far, but really low, the whole thing was under once we got to surf speeds.

Yep. It's too deep. Raise it up so it's barely under the water at surf speeds. That should clean it up nicely.
