2003 san se

First post, and new to the community.

Looking at a nice/well maintained 2003 SAN SE with 550-600hrs on it, and wanted to get some opinions. We both lived next to the beach, and now lived in Texas, so we are trying to find something to do around the water. Buying a boat seemed like a good option. I like the wakeskate, and surf, but not hardcore. It would be a family style thing, more than hard wake sessions, but want the solid wake behind the boat if we decided to get into it seriously.

Is there a real BIG difference between the SE & TE. I know that there is the the electric start and clarion unit, and center ballast tank in the TE, but is it that big of a deal? Is it worth holding off until a TE can be found?

The big ones I saw were stereo, ballast and perferct pass. None of which would be big deals if they were missing as you'd probably want to upgrade the all to modern equivalents.

The wake for wakeboarding is a classic and one of the best wakes of all time. The boats are still very popular for this reason even though the hull design is over 20 years old.

For surfing you'll need quite a bit if ballast (around 2500#) and a surf device (Google Mission Dela and Nauticurl for two popular examples.
