    Boat Value- 1994 Barefoot Nautique

I have the opportunity to purchase a 1994 Barefoot Nautique for pennies on the dollar. A friend is just looking to get rid of it and into a pontoon quickly. I've seen hulls of a 2001 SN go for more. I need another boat like I need a hole in my head. So I would play with it for a few weekends and sell for a profit.

    Details:
    450 hours
ECM just replaced and full engine tune up
Interior redone within last few years
Trailer looks to be in good shape based on pics

I feel the true market value of this boat is easily 10K. More/Less?

Any input before I flip this boat?

Is it a small block or big block? Does it still have the Pro-Tech or is it EFI?? Is it original or hacked up? Other then barefoot or cutting through chop that hull is not really that good for much else. Another big negative is I believe that the Excel/BFN's still had wood stringers. IMO 10 would be tippy top of value, depending on your answers more like 8.

Working on getting more info and pics to answer these questions.

Really, wood stringers? They would put composite stringers in some boats and wood in others? My 93 SN had fiberglass.

I know for a fact the 93 Excel/BFN is wood despite all the other 93 models being done with composite materials, 94 being the last year I highly doubt they would have engineered composite stringers for a single year run.

I have a friend who used to own a 91. It was very clean, brand new interior, big block, tower and stereo. He was only able to get $10,500. Great colors too. Black/red. That was about three years ago.

So, to add to what I mentioned above, I used to own a 91 BF as well. In 2000, I paid $14,500. I added a tower, nice stereo and sold it in 2004 for $18,500. That boat was awesome for wakeboarding. Never really tried to surf it. Mine had ugly sky blue/grey colors.

18.500 for a 91? You should have immediately bought a lottery ticket that was your lucky day.

Here's one in my region for 7K with a small block. The ad makes it pretty clear it needs work.

The one I'm looking at has the big block. Waiting on pics to confirm condition. My research shows it's actually a '92 based on the hull colorway.
Special Price - as is condition. Come check it out. Engine is a 5.8 L, 240 HP PCM. Includes tower, cover and trailer. V-Drive. Could either be completely redone to have a very solid early V Drive. Or

I agree with CQ. A BFN is a tough flip for top dollar, which is prob $10k? It's just not a well known, sought after hull out there.

I had a 92 BF with the 454 that I restored (No floor work needed thankfully). The motor was locked up, new interior, recondition the gel, new prop shaft/prop. I added a tower, bimini, stereo with Sub, underwater LED's and a few other things including a $800 cover. I sold it a year later for 10K. I figured I had a bout 6K in it... Not including my time..

This is very helpful thank you. I would take this on if I felt comfortable that I could get anything over $6500 which seems very likely.

You should have no problem getting better than $6,500

Ha! No doubt. The caveat is that was in 2004. Not many V-drives around then and certainly none anywhere near that cheap. New SAN 210's were selling for $55-60K. I definitely sold my BF at the peak of its value. One or two more years and I'd have been screwed. That aside, I still think the BF is a great value Nautique for wakeboarding. Especially if you can get into one for $10Kish. Gotta deal with a closed bow and having a carburetor though.
